Default Benoit: Will Different Broncos Lead to Different Result?

Two good Bronco-related articles at MMQB today. First is this one from Andy Benoit, previewing the game against the Seahawks:

It’s hard to get players downfield against press corners like Richard Sherman and Byron Maxwell, so offensive coordinator Adam Gase will have to design plays that get his guys a clean release off the line. For this, expect to see Thomas and Sanders often line up on the same side. And, expect the Broncos to set up a portion of their vertical routes by faking a wide receiver screen—likely to Thomas, which means Sanders is the man Seahawks free safety Earl Thomas must find.

    Good read, thanks for sharing.

It was a bit annoying seeing them refer to Brandon Marshall as an ILB. When they get a player's position wrong like that it hurts the credibility of the article.

Default It's down to the line, just as last time

The articles right on Franklins move inside (i.e. it plays to his strength, which IS the strength Beadles lacked, and gives him protection help from Clady & Ramirez, since Vasquez doesn't NEED Ramirezs help.) But against last weeks half-strength KC D, Clark looked no better on the right than he was in the SB on the left. At least when he blows a block on the RIGHTManning can see it coming. Clady's our only linemen who truly excels in both pass protection and pushing back defenders for the run, so it's darned good to have him back, but merely shuffling Clark and Franklin's probably not gonna get it done.

Ultimately, there's a reason Seattle could rush just three linemen, drop the fourth into middle zone coverage and keep Chancellor lurking in the deep middle for tipped/rushed throws, just as there's a reason for that pic of THREE Seahawks gang-tackling DT as two MORE converged. If we not only call a few runs, but get some credible yards from a few, that'll force Seattles linemen to stay closer to the line, preventing 8 man coverage, slowing the pass rush and maybe even drawing Chancellor up to the line so he can't play robber. IF....
Oh, valid point. I thought you meant all starters, you should take the time to be more descriptive, don't be shy. Jaded
