Default Reports: Vikings running back Adrian Peterson indicted for child injury

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has been indicted on charges of child injury in Texas, according to multiple reports.

According to MyFOXHouston, the charges are for "reckless or negligent injury to a child."

Child Protective Services confirms to TMZ they are working on a case involving Peterson and an 11-year-old boy.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports that Peterson has been cooperating with investigators. Glazer adds that the indictment means Peterson will have to turn himself in, leaving his status for this weekend in jeopardy.

AP is going to wish this all came out last year because if wife-beating has been escalated from two games to six games, imagine the suspension child-beating gets. Sounds like he was just trying to discipline his child the old-fashioned way. Even in Texas, that gets you reported to CPS.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

The article doesnt say if it was petersons son or not. Just that it was an 11 year old boy. If it wasnt his son, then he is in deep trouble

So, I read the article, and it doesn't say anything about what AP allegedly did. Anyone have information?

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the incident in question stems from “disciplining of a son with a switch.”

If thats the case - I call BS - unless there was extensive switching - i dont see anything wrong - My dad got the switch on a regular basis and we got the belt

If kids were disciplined better the world may not be as screwed up as it is

The practice of switching is banned in the United States School System in 29 states and no longer occurs in public settings.[2] In 21 states, including Mississippi and Texas, corporal punishment is still practiced in schools.[3] Many adults from rural areas still vividly recall being switched as children.[4]

Parents in the United States (where the wider paddle[5] is the most common spanking implement) are reputed to threaten disobedient children with gifts of utilitarian coal[6] and switches for Christmas should they not reform their behaviour, although the actual practice of this is rare to the vanishing point, especially as most people live in urban areas where less suitable wood is easily at hand for the old-fashioned woodshed treatment[7] and most modern educators consider such severe physical discipline cruel and it is often banned by law as child abuse.

Minnesota Vikings superstar Adrian Peterson has been indicted for child abuse in North Montgomery County, TX ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Sources connected to Peterson tell us ... the alleged victim is a male child from Minnesota who was visiting Adrian back in May at AP's home in Texas.

We're told the child returned home to his mother in Minn. who noticed injuries and took the child to a doctor. A short time later, the doctor contacted authorities in Texas to report Adrian.
