Maybe Orton was busy being an actual NFL QB.

Either way it wasn't Orton's job to mentor Tebow, dude has seen every QB Guru above ground and nothing sticks, fat steamy load of good a stiff like Borton would do.
Orton was never an actual NFL QB. I know you have no respect for Tebow but I'd take him over Orton every day of the week. Orton is the worst starting QB the Broncos have ever had.
    Let's Rid3!!!!

    I've a different take.

    2009
We traded our QB of the future, Cutler, for Orton. Even if he wasn't guaranteed that he'd be our QB of the future, the fact that we traded our previous QB of the future implies that he'd our QB of the future. Orton wasn't brought in to "mentor" Tebow. He'd only been in the league for 3 years prior to us bringing him in. Based on my observations, mentoring QBs are usually at least pushing double digit experience. Orton simply didn’t have the experience at the time that you’d be look for in a mentor.

    2010
March: We signed Quinn to challenge Orton for the starting job.
April: We drafted Tebow as our new QB of the future.

    2011
Tebois went above & beyond to run Orton out of town so Tebow could take over once & for all.

    Assessment
Not to make excuses for Orton, but he came here with certain expectations & got something completely different. Ending his 1st season with a 9 loses in a row might have had something to due with our change of plans, as well as turning the fan base against him.

Manning wasn't brought into mentor younger players but he does anyway. Orton was entering his 5th year in League when McDaniels traded for him. Tebow's obnoxious followers didn't run Orton out of Denver. His own poor play and lack of mental toughness led to his own demise.

Orton is an average NFL QB. One that I have bashed over and over again, and have no regrets on that. But Tebow was/is MUCH worse. MUCH.

Orton helped us to have a horrific season which helped get mcdaniels fired and helped us get von miller. Thats all he was ever good for.

Ok but that doesn't have anything to with Orton's lack of mental toughness and poor play.

Yeah.. I think I was quoting you while responding to the Orton/Tebow comments in general. Orton just sucked.

I agree Orton was the more polished quarterback but was that really saying that much in comparison to Tebow? (rhetorical question)
