Default Donald Sterling files a new lawsuit

LOS ANGELES -- Donald Sterling filed on Tuesday afternoon a suit in Superior Court seeking damages from the NBA, commissioner Adam Silver, his wife Shelly Sterling and the LA Clippers Basketball Club, alleging they violated corporate law in attempting to sell the franchise to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.

Sterling argues he is the sole owner and shareholder of LAC Basketball Club, a franchise and private corporation that manages and runs the Clippers.

He transferred those shares into the Sterling Family Trust in 1998, but when Sterling revoked that trust June 9, the shares of the corporation reverted back to his name, and his wife had no authority to sell them.

Default CEO: If Sterling stays, Doc likely goes

LOS ANGELES -- The interim CEO of the Los Angeles Clippers testified in state court Tuesday afternoon that coach and team president Doc Rivers has told him on multiple occasions that he doesn't think he wants to continue as coach if Donald Sterling remains owner of the team.

Dick Parsons said he's talked to Rivers, several players and key sponsors who are troubled by Sterling's continued ownership of the franchise, which is being adjudicated in a California probate court.

At issue is whether Shelly Sterling acted properly in selling the franchise for a record $2 billion to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, without her husband's expressed consent.
