The Broncos announced they had released the veteran tight end with a failed physical designation Tuesday.
Not a surprise. Thanks for your service, Joel

theres 3 million toward DTs contract
I was on the fence of who should stay between Tamme and Dreesen. But this makes the decision easier and absolute. Now we can divy that money up to Julius or Demaryius.
Maybe he can come back at a reduced rate once he heals up and give us some depth. Just hope he doesn't land in NE.
"Oh I’m sorry, did I break your concentration?”
Jules Winnfield - Pulp Fiction
We all knew it was going to happen. Just had to wait to cut him. he was our most complete TE, but also the most expendable too. I see a bunch of 2 TE formations this year with Virg and OJ. Tamme is solid backup. Gerrell will be lucky imo to make the roster.
The Plan at the moment:
Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).
Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell
didnt he play for Co State?
The former Colorado State star doesn't have clear waivers, cast as a free agent who can sign with any team. Dreessen's desire was to complete the final year of his contract with the Broncos. However, a left knee injury sabotaged his chances, along with the emergence of Julius Thomas and a strong field of backups.full denver post articleDreessen, one of only 12 players to start a high school (Fort Morgan), college and NFL game in Colorado, caught seven passes last season as a backup. He started 15 games in 2012, posting a career-best 41 receptions for 356 yards and five touchdowns.

I've always liked him since he came to Denver. Never heard of him before that. I hate that he's had a nasty injury. I hope he's financially stable enough to retire. This makes the possibility of keeping Tamme that much better.
I still expect Tamme to be cut as well before all is said and done.
