    Default Top 20 Beatles songs.

The Beatles were the first music I really got into, this would have been 1986, when I was 11.

I listened to everything they made. It was all Beatles for about two years. I STILL have most of their songs memorized from that time. I used to make top 20 lists of my favorite Beatles songs, they would change frequently.

So now I'm going to do a 27 year update. See how things settle out. My all-timers.

    Honorable Mention:

Pretty much everything on Let It Be--nothing made the cut, but it's all great stuff.

    Lovely Rita

    20. Ticket to Ride
    19. Any Time at All
    18. Eight Days a Week
    17. Rocky Raccoon
    16. I'm So Tired
    15. Martha My Dear
    14. Tomorrow Never Knows
    13. Golden Slumbers / Carry That Weight / The End
    12. Blackbird
    11. Lucy in the Sky
    10. Magical Mystery Tour
    9. Paperback Writer
    8. Long, Long, Long
    7. Cry Baby Cry
    6. And Your Bird Can Sing
    5. In My Life
    4. You Never Give Me Your Money
    3. Rain
    2. A Day in the Life
    1. Strawberry Fields Forever

Be curious if anyone else is a fan,,

Good choices, not like you could go wrong with any of them. There are only maybe a handful of Beatles songs that I can't stand.

The Beatles were my first real favorite band. I still have a Beatles shirt from 6th grade that fits me. I don't listen to them much at all lately unless I get in the mood, but I no doubt adore them. I made a top 20 list a couple years ago and it's still accurate so i'll just copy paste. My top 20 Beatles songs that I would listen to if I was on my death bed and the doctor told me I had to listen to 20 Beatles songs:

    20. Ballad of John and Yoko
    19. In My Life
    18. All My Loving
    17. Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
    16. Rocky Raccoon
    15. I'm So Tired
    14. She’s Leaving Home
    13. Good Day Sunshine
    12. For No One
    11. Don’t Let Me Down
    10: Two of Us
    9: Love You To
    8. Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds
    7. The End
    6. Strawberry Fields Forever
    5. I’ll Follow the Sun
    4. Within You Without You
    3. Rain
    2. Dig A Pony
    1. I Feel Fine

Great choices, too bad you are wrong and I am right. But nice try!

lol I kid. Awesome man. Nice to put Rain and The End so high, that's not the norm, but I agree 100%. And I was real close to putting Dig A Pony, too. Plus Don't Let Me Down. It's hard to rank.

So hard. It still amazes me that Rain didn't make it on an actual album. Most of my picks are for sentimental reasons. I Feel Fine is the first Beatles song that I remember downloading from limewire back in the day.

    Overrated Beatles song: Hey Jude.

I really like I'm Only Sleeping on Revolver. Seems like the first record they did after experimenting with recreational drugs.

You can't have Beatles songs without "I Want To Hold Your Hand", "All My Loving", "Michelle", "She Loves You" and a few others. I can't pick out 20 top picks though, to tough for me to decide.

    Merry.

    I'll take a stab but I better do it 1-20, not 20-1:

    1. Can't Buy Me Love
    2. Come Together
    3. Rain
    4. You're Gonna Lose That Girl
    5. I Feel Fine
    6. The Long And Winding Road
    7. Run For Your Life
    8. Help! (with the James Bond-ish Intro)
    9. I Am The Walrus
    10. You Can't Do That
    11. Obla-Di Obla-Da
    12. Hello Goodbye
    13. The Word
    14. Rocky Raccoon
    15. She Loves You
    16. Paperback Writer
    17. Michelle
    18. Get Back
    19. Taxman
    20. With A Little Help From My Friends

There's other I could list but there's only room for 20.

Thank you for mentioning Here Comes the Sun. I've always liked that song.

I never got into the Beatles enough to rank 20 songs against one another - but I have a clear-cut #1 - Let it Be.

It's hard for me to believe they wrote 20 better songs than that.
