    Default Overrated/Underrated

Today on the Sirius NFL Channel they were having a discussion about who the most overrated and most underrated players on each team were. I didn't get to hear much of the show so I don't know if the Broncos were discussed. I'm curious as to who the fan base thinks are the most overrated and underrated players on the roster.

I was giving it some thought and I'm having a tough time coming up with them. If this was last year's team I had three candidates for overrated: Eric Decker, Zane Beadles, and (flame away) Champ Bailey.

On this year's team I think for overrated I would have to say, Von Miller. Don't get me wrong, he's a fantastic player and everybody is expecting a dynamic duo in the pass rush, but nobody knows how he's going to respond after the knee surgery. I think he will have a good year, but I choose him for a lack of anybody else jumping out at me. I also think it won't be until next year before Von is completely "Von" again.

As for underrated, I'm going to say, Danny Trevathan, but he's becoming less and less underrated every day.

Underrated: Chris Harris (pro bowl snub) I'd agree with Danny too though. Chris is a top 10 NFL man coverage cb.

Underrated: Montee Ball, dude is a beast. Runs strong like TD. Doesn't he own the record for most touchdowns ever run in by a college athlete? (77)

    Overrated: Derek Wolfe
Underrated: MONEY BALL and Virgil Greene
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

    Last year's team:

Over rated: Knowshon Moreno, Champ Bailey (although, not highly rated when sitting on bench), Wesley Woodyard
Under rated: Eric Decker, Orlando Franklin

    This year's team:

Over rated: Wes Welker, Aqib Talib
Under rated: Ronnie Hillman, Sylvester Williams, Quanterus Smith, Colquit

I disagree with Moreno, not counting his injury. He was a great go-to option for Peyton out of the backfield and an excellent blocker, like a FB.

I thought about Moore, but he has such a suspect reputation already among Broncos' fans that I ruled him out.

Last Year - Over Rated - Von Miller, Champ Bailey and Welker (waiting for the flack) also anyone who thought Quenton Jammer was anything other than atrocious wildly over rated him

Underrated - Mitch Unrien, Eric Decker, (had we not signed Sanders (which was the steal of the off season in my eyes) Decker's absence would have been missed)

This Year - not sure about over or underated - but i expect big years from Virgil Green and CJ Anderson (Money Ball is a given) but think that if they make the cut Tamme and Dressen will see less and less field time and Green and Thomas dominate the TE position with Robinson also stepping up to the plate.

More than anything i hope the Von Ware combo is better than i hope.

Smith has done nothing at all, Colquitt under performs, Williams played sparingly as a rookie and Hillman fumbles a lot and runs soft.

Just curious as to what any of these guys have done so far to deserve being rated any more than they currently are? It usually helps your rating when you have proven yourself a little.

Yeah, the Q Smith was a head scratcher for me too.

I'm not sure I can attribute anything to this thread. I'm still too disappointed about how the Superbowl went. I still think Denver has a great team with more talent than last year and I expect them to make another strong run for the Lombardi if we can stay healthier next season.

My biggest worry is if Ball were to miss time. I'm not as confident as some are here about our second and third string RBs.

I agree with Rav on his under rated. I think all four of those guys are off the radar and have the chance to surprise this year.

Hope you guys are right about Smith. If he turns into something the Denver pass rush should be lethal. A far cry from the days when you could count to 7 Mississippi before a Denver d lineman got in a QB's face.

    2013
Underrated: Chris Clark - Played well in place of Clady.
Overrated: Duke Ihenacho - Overhyped for a guy that misses tackles.

    2014
Underrated - Montee Ball - He should be able to replicate Moreno's success.
Overrated - Briton Colquitt - Overpaid for his performance.
