Default LeBron opts out of contract.

No link yet, but it's all over twitter. You almost feel like if he doesn't wind up back in Miami, he HAS to go back to Cleveland right? I don't think he wants to be seen historically as a guy who just jumped from team to team chasing titles. This will certainly be interesting to see play out.

LeBron James' agent, Richie Paul, has informed the Miami Heat that James will exercise his early termination option and become an unrestricted free agent.

James had June 30 to decide whether to opt out of the final two years of his contract with the Heat. He was scheduled to make $20 million next season.

We'll see, not saying your wrong but Shaq wore a lot of jersey's over his career. Maybe LBJ will go that route.

But Shaq changed most of his jerseys when he was much older and less effective. Other than his first year in Miami, he really wasnt much of a force there, Cleveland, Phoenix or Boston.

It would be a cool story if he went back to Cleveland, but I'd bet money against it. If I was a betting man, that is...

he's a weak willed individual and if things get even the slightest bit uneasy, he bolts. He will never be half of what Kobe was.

I don't disagree at all. I guess the point I am making is it is possible and I don't think it hurts his legacy to move around. It might honestly improve it. LBJ doesn't give the warm fuzzy feeling and the talents to south beach thing still bugs people, but if he moves a lot and wins, will it really be held against him still? The only other way to fix it might be going back to Cleveland and winning a title for his home city.

    Thanks MasterShake!!!

Yea, i dont think he is as good as Kobe let alone MJ as you do make an interesting point. Never the less i doubt he goes back to Cleveland as that bridge is burned as far as i can tell. He will certainly try and go to another contender.

    Good grief.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

America needs a villain Mo. Once we've picked our villain, any civil discourse or rational thought about that person goes out the window.
