    Default Aaron Hernandez: Cheaper lawyers?

The $18 million Aaron Hernandez made in three years as a tight end for the New England Patriots apparently was insufficient income to continue to afford the defense attorneys he has retained in his legal proceedings.

Hernandez, jailed for nearly a year without bail in Massachusetts as he now faces murder charges related to the killing of three men, has filed a motion asking a Suffolk County court for two months "to make financial arrangements to retain counsel," according to legal filings, the contents of which were first reported Friday by Fox Sports and later confirmed by ESPN's Michele Steele.

The district attorney's PR department had no comment to ESPN's Steele but said they are aware of the situation.

    from article:

Aaron Hernandez enjoyed a nice life when he was in the NFL with the Patriots. He signed a $40 million contract, bought a big home in the suburbs and was able to spend his riches on whatever he wanted.
Hernandez's attorneys Charles Rankin and James Sultan filed documents stating that they may discontinue representing the former NFL tight end. The report states that Hernandez is unable to sell his home due to a restraining order and part of his $12.5 million signing bonus ($3.25 million) is in dispute as a result of his murder charges. As a result, he has no influx of money.

Make him settle for a free public defender. Give him an attorney fresh out of law school who needs practice...No, unfortunately, he will get a dream team of attorneys who will defend him for the free publicity it will get them

Hate to complain about bad things happening to AH, but then what they're saying is all someone has to do is file a restraining order against you and you can't sell your own house? He hasn't been found guilty yet -- and they're able to tie up his finances and prevent him from adequately defending himself for the purpose of locking in their civil judgement? That doesn't sound right.

Still--already broke...that's great. Guess his "Makin' it Rain" move wasn't just limited to football. Can you start a Kickstarter / FundAnything campaign from the Big House?

This guy is so cooked. 2 separate murder cases and no money left. Just plead guilty and get on with it...

Not that I feel sorry in any way but I wouldn't doubt he's blown through $2 million.

*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Default Source: Aaron Hernandez a lookout in prison fight

(CNN)Convicted murderer Aaron Hernandez is in trouble once again, getting mixed up in a prison fight, a law enforcement source with knowledge of the incident said Tuesday.

Hernandez allegedly agreed to be the lookout for another inmate who went into another prisoner's cell at Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center.

Those two inmates got into a fight Monday, the source says, believed to be gang-related.

All three men are being disciplined over the incident, including the former professional football player, who was put in a special management section.
