I'm just talking about some of the comments here. They're probably right, but he is the owner of the team and if he wants to discuss Johnny's celebrity status with him then it's his perogative. I guess all I'm saying is I don't see what the big deal is.

That's why he had trouble finding a coach. Go act like an owner, not a coach, you douche canoe.

Manziel should do an Eli Manning/John Elway and tell Haslam to trade him.

Manziel has said all the right things since being picked. Am not sure why Haslam put this out there--unnecessary and annoying.

Um. You entirely missed my point. You dont draft a QB in the first round to backup people, unless its a good QB, ... You dont draft "Johnny Football" and say hey "tone down the hollywood style, your going to backup Jason Campbell!"

You honestly think Manziel will change who he is to suit the Browns?

No. The team that drafted Manziel has to embrace the whole package if they want to succeed with him. Browns should have known this, apparently they dont.

The NFL is Hollywood you dumbass. All of the big teams are Hollywood-esque. The Browns don't know this though because they suck major dick.

Default Browns take steps to limit access

In an effort to control the frenzy following the drafting of Johnny Manziel, the Cleveland Browns will limit media coverage to this weekend's rookie minicamp and other offseason activities.
Zak Gilbert, the team's director of communications, said media coverage for Saturday's rookie minicamp would be limited to regulars from the local Cleveland media and perhaps a few national writers -- though the team is still deciding what to do about the potential crush of national media.

In addition, anyone wishing to cover an offseason practice or minicamp must let the team know no later than 48 hours before the event.

The team wants to avoid a media circus, with satellite trucks and entertainment networks broadcasting from team headquarters. There will be no live video of the rookie minicamp.

No. The team that drafted Manziel has to embrace the whole package if they want to succeed with him. Browns should have known this, apparently they dont.
It appears as though the Browns have very publicly told Manziel that his college days are over, he's an employee now, an asset, that they expect him to do as he's told. Personally, I think Haslam went out on a limb for a d-bag that the FO didn't want and he's making sure Manziel doesn't embarrass him.

As for me not knowing the kid, he's polarizing for a reason and fwiw Haslam's actions suggest that I'm not far off the mark, no other owner felt the need to go into damage control before their new QB has even signed his contract. Clearly the Browns are aren't 100% comfortable with Manziels act. At least not in a low profile role such as a backup QB.

Do I associate him with Mike Vicks and Lawrence Phillips of the world? Of course not, I'm sure he's a good dude, I just think he's a bag and that he enjoys being a bag.

Vic Lombardi was talking about the Browns limiting media access, and said they were doing this to avoid what happened with Tebow and the media.

    Why wouldn't they?

Do you know who Jim Saccamano is?
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

    Manziel = Tebow + ego + arm - religiosity.

I can only imagine the welcome he'll receive from NFL d-linemen.

You think Tebow doesn't have just as of an ego?

You think Tebow would have strutted on stage with that "money" hand gesture while being the 20+th pick of the first round? Oh, wait. We have that answer.

And I thought Jerry Jones and Malcolm Glazier were such bad owners, Haslam has fired two coaches that only lasted one year. As hopefully that Johnny Football does not show the red flags that he had shown at TX A&M!
