There are trade rumors surrounding New England Patriots quarterback Ryan Mallett, and the potential destination is the Houston Texans.

The Patriots want a third-round draft pick in exchange for the former Arkansas standout, according to CSN New England.

People have been saying for months the Texans and Patriots are interested in a Ryan Mallett trade, but this is the first time I read it would be for a third round pick - probably because all people ever talk about is their #1 pick. I read the Texans want more second day picks, not less, so if they do it, they would be stupid to not let the Falcons trade up to #1.

That's not entirely fair. They've taken some killer special teamers in the early rounds!

I've also read at PFT that if Mallett is moved to the Texans that the Pats may be interested in acquiring Glennon from Tampa Bay to be Brady's backup.

I have only seen Mallett in pre-season and have been mostly unimpressed.

I never understood the hype. He has a big arm, but so did Ryan Leaf and John Skelton. I was honest surprised Billy B took him.

But this time he's asking for a 3rd. I'm kind of surprised that Belicheat isn't asking for a second round pick.
