I'd also say that both teams are about equal from a talent perspective, but LBJ lead his talented team in more statistical categories. He also shoots for a much higher percentage. It was a close race this year...but that's just my opinion

I'm not discrediting KD and not arguing anything, but LBJ is and was better. I hate saying it as much as anyone...but it's true
I thought KD earned the award this year. I think LeBron is the most dominant player, and KD is the best, if that makes sense.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

You have a valid argument. I use to say the same thing back in the 80's. I thought Magic was far and away the best player in the league and it annoyed me when someone else would get the MVP.

Best scorer? Sure...I'll give him that. Best overall player? I have to defer to LBJ

Default LeBron: Kevin Durant deserves MVP

MIAMI -- Four-time winner LeBron James says Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant deserves the NBA's MVP award.

It's expected that the Thunder star will be announced as winner this week. James has lauded Durant's play this season several times recently and did so again Monday.

"Much respect to him and he deserves it," James said. "He had a big-time MVP season."

James has won the award the past two seasons and in four of the past five -- twice each with Miami and Cleveland. Chicago point guard Derrick Rose interrupted James' run in 2010-11.

Did James truly mean this? With him, it is hard to say. I feel that Kevin earned his first MPV award this year.

KD deserved it more than LBJ this year easily IMO.

I'm not really sure I follow. So if you to win one series right now to save your life and you could have either LeBron or Durant to lead your team, who would you take?

What would make you question if James truly means this? He has never been anything but classy and complimentary when talking about Durant.

Classy and James doesn't belong in the same sentence.

I also heard LBJ is a shitty tipper - he never leaves more than 10% if he leaves anything at all

    Now THAT is classless

When has he ever been anything but classy when discussing Durant?

I cried like 20 times during KD's speech.

He's just trying to be like Mike. MJ is the most notorious bad tipper of all time.

I don't think he has been classy at all. At best, for lack of a better descriptor he has been politically correct. His reputation proceeds him and he is doing some things to try and mitigate the damage.

What the hell does class off the court have to do with an MVP award? If that mattered, MANY former athletes would have to give theirs up.

And to answer the question...I'd start my team with LBJ. I can always find a perimeter scorer...I cant always find someone that plays all facets of the game at an elite level.
