Default Lakers coach D'Antoni resigns with contract time left

    from article:

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Los Angeles Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni resigned Wednesday after less than two seasons on the job.

The 62-year-old D'Antoni had one year left on his contract, but wanted the Lakers to pick up his option year for 2015-16 to have any chance of success. The Lakers apparently refused, leading to D'Antoni's resignation.

Lakers great Magic Johnson, who was sharply critical of D'Antoni's coaching style, hailed the news on his Twitter account.

"Happy days are here again!" Johnson tweeted. "Mike D'Antoni resigns as the Lakers coach. I couldn't be happier!"

I really do not think that was necessary for Johnson to say that.

Kind of a petulant move by Johnson, especially given his platform and standing with the franchise.

Right now, nothing Magic Johnson says is going to be criticized.

His plan is coming together nicely.

Get whore to blackmail Clippers owner.
    Feign outrage.
    Get Mike D'Anonti fired.
    Buy Clippers.
    Club Kobe in the knee.

    Dominance is his!
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Charles Barkley didn’t like what his fellow Basketball Hall of Famer and NBA analyst had to say. It wasn’t anger as much as disappointment, like when your parents catch you trying to sneak downstairs to eat all the cookies and play video games.

Here’s what the TNT analyst said on Inside the NBA on Wednesday night, after the tweet was read:

“Magic Johnson’s bigger than that. Magic Johnson’s bigger than that. Listen, Mike D’Antoni is a good coach. They didn’t give him a lot to work with. But Magic Johnson, he’s bigger than that.”

So apparently, Magic Johnson is bigger than that? TNT host Ernie Johnson tried to interject. Barkley wasn’t having it.
