we continue to receive ice falling fairly constantly.

they are close to closing I-80 ---- but for now recommend no one goes outside, even to walk.

I can hear the ice hit the house. Got my tree lit up and my stereo playing.
Drinking coffee. and there's a probably a song in here, I just can't remember the name of it.
It is rather entertaining your discussion with SR, KC, Schnooks, I don't mind because I know the weather can be a dead topic.

But with this said the winter storm will go southeast of us giving this area a woping 1/2 of snow! And parts of Minn getting up to two feet in two days I could ride all day in that stuff!

Right now it's 5:55pm, it's been dark for almost an hour, it's about 70-degrees outside and not a cloud in the sky.

Like a good portion of the country, it was a cold, wet, windy here yesterday.

Looks to be the same today.
What shall we do with all this useless beauty?

Things were pretty much shut down last night in Madison. We had 6 inches of snow covered with 1 inch of ice (freezing rain) over everything.

Sunday morning here in Diamondhead, MS is beautiful with a little haze due to the humidity. It is supposed to get to 75 today and we are going to the beach! Whooo hoooo!

    Stop it.

Well....we were told it was to be sunny and 34 degrees today.

Note quite. We are currently getting snow, streets are slick, and we are to get ice again later today.

I'm quickly getting reaquainted with my driving maneuvers and special anti-accident techniques.

Well for your driving alone I am happy to be this far away right now!!
I do not envy you at all when it comes to the ICE! There is not a vehicle out there that can stop on ice, not one! They do need to invent one though and maybe just maybe I would be tempted to leave this 78 degree, sunny weather with the Beach to frolic on for there again!

I'm a GREAT driver....quit listening to the rumors.

    No tickets in 25 years.

You just have to learn to bat your eyes and say, "I know officer, I was just hurrying, and I'm really, really sorry." and then *smile*.

Strange. We have a heavy snow fall and thunderstorm going on at the same time. We have fairly heavy snow coming down 4-6" on the ground over the last 5-6 hours or so, with high winds, so near white out conditions.

Now, I just heard what sounded like a long rolling thunder, but figured it had to be something else. I was listening to the scanner to try and see how bad the conditions are getting (have to get into work in the morning) and I hear one of the cops come on and say, "that was thunder, and there was lighting with it" and a few minutes later my wife walked in and asked if I heard it, because she also saw the lightening.

Can't remember ever seeing/hearing that in a snow storm before.

Got 2-3 inches of snow Christmas Eve night and in to yesterday. It's -1 outside and ill be damned if I'm going out to scrape ice off my windows. Ill pollute the environment for 15-20 minutes to warm my truck up while I sit my warm, happy ass on my couch inside my house.

Looks like we have about a foot of snow. Just heard on the news it's the most snow in Little Rock since '63. Don't think we'll have many records further north, but it's still much heavier than we normally get.
