It's hard to go from two straight AFCCG's to being considered a train wreck, I wonder what could cause such a drastic swing in perception.

What have they done the past 4-5 years. They have been up and down like a yo-yo playing pretty good defense but sucking on offense for the most part.

Part of it started with Woody having to have Tebow against the wishes of his celebrated HC.

Bad meddling owners cause issues in the locker room mostly who is in charge. Who do I take orders from? Is Rex going to be around next year?

That is the train wreck is see. Plus hell before those two good years against middling division opponents they were a train wreck for almost ever. That team as a previous poster stated suffer from being in the same town as the NYG.

To most fans and media they are still the AFL start up team. They are not, real like the NYG or,Yankees maybe even the Knicks IIRC they also have a better Hockey team.

Loads of media constantly comparing them.

It is clear not many people live in NY, the Jets are considered lovable losers and redheaded stepchild status to the NYG.

Its like the Mets and the Yankees.

So I have to consider the Jets a train wreck because people in NY say so?

Nope. Joe Namath and the New York Sack Exchange legends can take a non-NY team but so far if that's all they have. Fans elsewhere would've been disguised as empty seats. The fans here are loyal even though they threaten to leave them after every loss.

    Not impossible.

Denver went from pretty ******* bad to the SB so its not far fetched to say a team can face a total reversal.

The Giants won the Superbowl the next year. In fact those two AFCCG appearances were sandwiched between Giants Superbowl titles.

Not only is it hard to get to back to back Conference title games but Sanchez and Co. did it all on the road in 4 games. To a Giants fan that's adorable since their team won 5 of their 6 playoff games on the road.

The only things their playoff runs had in common are victories against the Patriots.

And then there's The Butt Fumble.

Yeah but you have arguably a top-5 all-time QB, unarguably a top-3 or g.o.a.t. regular season QB. It's not impossible true, but if Denver doesn't get there this year then you can appreciate what the Jets did, even though they never went to the Superbowl.

Im not saying they cant appreciate it, im not even saying they are Oakland Raider bad. (how did you like that? lol) Im just saying its not difficult in this league to go from hero to zero or vice versa.

    Link doesn't work.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

As a New Yorker and a Mets fan, this is basically true. Jets fans sure ran their mouths a lot in 09 and 10, though. Generally not a very likable fan base, and I say this having plenty of friends who are Jets fans.
