Thread: LBers

    Default LBers

Figured I'd make it generalized since most think we should target a MLB. I've seen ryan shazier listed as a OLB and MLB. He looks more like a OLB build. If he put on weight by time the combine comes would he be a good pick? Only ask cause what I have seen from him he hits like a truck

Is he 3-4 or 4-3? Many 4-3 Sams are just run-stuffers, first off the field in nickel, and the line between 4-3 Wills and SSs thins daily; 3-4 OLBs demand more versatility. They have to blitz and play the run equally well, and the best are good in coverage, too. If he can do all that and has the smarts and vision to run the defense from the middle, I've love a guy like that as our Mike.

That's really more another question than an answer though; I don't follow the SECAA.
Oh, valid point. I thought you meant all starters, you should take the time to be more descriptive, don't be shy. Jaded

Of course, I still like AJ Johnson Tennessee. He's always been an Inside Linebacker. I'm just not confident on his pass coverage on a quick player.

I think Shayne Skov from Stanford would be an interesting pick.

What about Christian Jones? Think he lasts to the end of the third round?

If he runs the way I think he will at the combine, he may not last to the end of the 2nd round.

I think Irving will be our MLB next year, seems to be a 3 down type guy that has the ability to pressure the QB. HE can certainly stop the run.

If Miller had not went down this year (more ways than one) I believe he would have been given time there. Woodyard is gone and Trevathan has more than taken over his spot, if anything any LB brought in will be for back up..

He looks a little skinny but flies around and hits really hard. Idk how good he is getting off blocks though. Has mean streak though

I just want a MLB that can be a leader. Not too much to ask!

I dont want a guy who constantly loses RBs running routes out of the backfield.

At the Mike Position my top prospects would Shayne Skov of Stanford, Yawin Smallwood of Connecticut, Max Bullough of Michigan State and Caleb Lavey of Oklahoma State.

Man I'd love to have Bullough here. Reminds of Kuechly.

good thing we are set at OLB, getting a true MLB should be a huge focus.
