I didn't notice, but we're in a more affluent area, so it's mostly white kids. Plus, I was with my wife, so no HS girl watching...

Speaking as someone who works with Somali & Sudanese Refugees, many of them don't trust banks. I knew a pair of Somali sisters who did the same thing. When their husbands were able to come to America, both of whom had foreign driver's licences that the state of AZ immediately turned into AZ driver's licences, they were able to buy reliable cars with in a week or 2 of arriving.
