Default Did RG3 brag about his influence over the Redskins' owner?

So who do you think is the best head coach to come in & fix all of this?

A report has come out describing egotistical behavior by Robert Griffin III and statements from him saying he has control over the future of the franchise.

    ********************

Griffin has "bragged to teammates" about his close relationship with Snyder and his influence over the direction of the franchise, according to Sally Jenkins of The Washington Post. Jenkins cites "insiders" in describing egotistical behavior by the quarterback, including Griffin campaigning for the offense to be styled after his skill set and engaging in intense finger-pointing sessions with wide receivers.

The report also indicates that Griffin has alienated some of his receivers as well as members of the offensive line with his actions, making team unity a tall order for whoever is tasked with leading the franchise going forward. Some players also expressed frustration over the ineffective offense throughout the season, and veteran Santana Moss even called out Griffin specifically at one point, chiding the quarterback for not taking more responsibility for the team's struggles.

This is the polar opposite of what kind of guy he was cast to be before he became a pro.

I guess you don't really know to what extent a guy's going to believe his own press clippings, as well as what'll happen if he's not able live up to them, until they act make it to the pros.

If this is true then me too. I first liked him cause he grew up at Fort Hood when I was there. Then I liked his attitude but this may change things. Not that he cares.

Default RG3 wins Redskins' Ed Block Courage Award

ASHBURN, Va. -- Robert Griffin III had an award-winning season after all.

The Washington Redskins quarterback has been selected by his teammates to receive the team's Ed Block Courage Award, an honor given annually to a player who has overcome adversity.

This was published today. Both articles certainly paint a totally different picture, as RG3 was selected for this award by his teammates.

Who else do they have to vote for? Not giving him the award would create a firestorm of public controversy that's guaranteed to rip what little team unity apart.

I'll reserve judgement until I have facts. Maybe more people should try doing that.

I could absolutely see him saying something along those lines, but I doubt the context is how it is being reported. By all accounts, the only person that didn't love the kid was Shanahan.

It all sounds like a team that is frustrated after a 3-13 season. If they win 10 games next year, none of this will be repeated and everyone will love him like they did last year.
