Really glad the NFL and Pro Football HOF got this expedited to recognize an NFL player that broke a longstanding record...

...too bad there weren't any other longstanding records broken that weekend worthy of recognition

Isn't that only a team record?

Yup; it's not even in the top 50 single game rushing performances overall, and that's with a LOT of ties in the later part of the list: http://www.pro-football-reference.co...ingle_game.htm

It's more a statement of how bereft the Eagles have been of good runners for the past 60 years than how great McCoy did. Not that 217 yds in a game isn't impressive, but Peterson has the NFL record with 296, and had 200 the last game of last year (ironically, 217, or even the 210 he had the first time they played GB, would've given him the season record.) I honestly don't know why Canton cares about team rather than NFL records, however old they may be. Surely they don't have the jersey of each player who holds a record for all 32 teams.
Oh, valid point. I thought you meant all starters, you should take the time to be more descriptive, don't be shy. Jaded

...well, all I can say is thank God they got that (McCoy's stuff) put up pronto!!!

...they can get around to Prater's kick here sometime, but certainly no rush or priority...
