    I'm glad we have him.

If Mike Shanahan had it his way, the Denver Broncos wouldn’t be facing a decision on Wesley Woodyard at the send of the 2013 season. Shanahan revealed in a conference call to reporters on Wednesday that when he was hired by the Washington Redskins in 2010, he attempted to bring Woodyard with him.

Woodyard has missed the last two games with a neck injury, but is hopeful that he can return to the field Sunday against the Washington Redskins.

Woodyard said the same thing last week. Hopefully this week he can actually come back.

I thought we had Woody signed longer than that. Did he just sign a new deal? Maybe it was only a two year deal...

He only signed a two-year deal when he hit FA. We didn't want to give a long term deal to a "backup" and he wanted a chance to get on the field as a starter before getting locked in for a long time anyway. So we got him cheap for a couple of years, but we're gonna pay him now.

    We'd BETTER pay him now...

Funny...he wouldn't even play Woodyard on anything other than Special Teams for quite a long time. My dad and I always used to have a fit about it.

Yeah I think so...he makes a huge difference. I'd love to have him and Trevathan on the field at the same time for the next few years
