I meant this....
Most defenders reach for the shoulder pads in that instance. We've seen it a million times. That's the proper way to do it. Tackling 101.
My mom knows better than to try and lower the boom and MJD and a 250lb RB guys, come on.

Swearinger's hit on Keller was chickenshit, so was the hit on Cobb.

The High Knee running style of old 49er Roger Craig might make a comeback.
Swearinger and Elams 'tackles' were "bang-bang" plays. Both Cobb and Keller had just caught the ball in front of them. What were they suppose to do? Go low. If they hit them high they would have been flagged and fined for hitting a defenseless player and then they would have been called dirty players instead of chickenshit.
Neither one of those guys have reps for being chickenshit when it comes to tackling/hitting anyone if you're familiar with their playing style. It's quite the opposite.
I wonder if Keller and Cobb think those hits are chickenshit, the Swearinger hit especially, dude drew a bead on Kellers knee before his foot hit the ground.
Keller had a torn ACL, MCL, PCL and a dislocated knee cap! That reminds me of the joke about a dude that killed his entire family and claimed he was cleaning his gun when it suddenly went off.

I dont think the tackling is that much worse than years past, at all. I think it's an exaggeration that the old players use, because they are now watching the game, rather than playing IN the game. The game is played at a MUCh faster rate, and the players are much bigger and faster. Hell, QBs are now 6'4" 240lbs and can run. Also, there are no jersey tackles today like they had in the "old days." You can't wrap up while grabbing a handful of jersey like they used to, because there is nothing to hold onto.
If there is an "old timer" trying to take away from LT's ability because he played in a time of "bad tackling"...then that guy should have his skills taken away because he played in a time of smaller players. Thats a STUPID comment that I find to be the typical "we were always better in my day" remarks.

Yes, Swearinger intentionally tryed to take Kellers legs out from under him. Again J, what else was DJ suppose to do? Keller was defenseless.
