Default America's most miserable sports cities

Sports misery isn't all about futility. Sometimes it's about leading your fans to the cusp of a title only to let them down in the end. It's happened the most in these 10 cities over the years. Only major U.S. sports towns — those with at least 75 cumulative NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL seasons — are eligible.

Slideshows are just ways to try to get more "hits" to a website as a means of conning advertisers that a site is more popular than it really is. It would be like if you had to order that pay-per-view movie every 20 minutes to keep watching.

If the list includes Denver, I would disagree. The Broncos have two SB rings in the past 20 years and a couple of Stanley Cups plus one NL pennant. Now, if you want to include CU on the list of Denver teams, maybe they can make a case but I think Denver fans have a rather normal fan experience across the four major sports.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

The list includes San Diego, probably the best part of it.

I will never click one of those gay slideshow pages. Just post the 5 teams.

Yeah. We're suppose to believe that you don't click on anything gay.

Unless you're getting money from the ads on this site there is no reason not to just post the list.

I was told a couple of years ago that we couldn't post a certain percentage of an article. I assumed that posting the list would be posting pretty much 100% of the article. Maybe it only had to do with the Denver Post, but I assumed it applied to all articles. It's not a big deal. If you don't want to click on it, don't.

what you failed to do as the OP was to make posters like BDB and myself want to read this garbage. Excuse us for being frank about it, but this thread sucks.

Its got to be Detroit, Cleveland and Buffalo. Hands down..not based on won lost records, but on futility, disappointment and humiliation..not to mention that they are all hideous cities to have to live in

The top comment: "Cleveland. There isn't even a close second. Terrible list."

I'm thinking they may have left out Detroit because of the Red Wings and Tigers. They don't seem very disappointing. I can't really say on the city itself.
