And yet the staff, barring change, was ready to start him over Koppen or Blake or Myers or any other guys who's played Center recently. Weird.

desperate times call for desperate measures

Desperate is right. The center situation is going from bad to worse. Or so it appears. That Ravens Interior D line has Ngata and that rookie who is like 400 pounds. Hope the rumors of Ramirez getting rag dolled in practice are not true.

I doubt we pull anyone out of retirement. But who knows at this point. Maybe it's the elevation, but we always seem to have too many injuries.

The Denver Broncos are considering reuniting Peyton Manning and offensive lineman Ryan Lilja.

Fox Sports reported Tuesday night that the Broncos are talking to Lilja, 31, about ending his retirement. Lilja, who has seen time at guard and center, played with the Chiefs from 2010-12 after his stint with Manning in Indianapolis from 2004-09.

I can see why Denver is interested in Lilja. He is a veteran with experience at center -- and he has a rapport with Manning. In an emergency situation, Denver could do worse than Lilja.
