Default Mike Bohn resigns as Colorado Buffaloes athletic director

Mike Bohn has resigned as the athletic director at the University of Colorado, school spokesman Bronson Hilliard confirmed Tuesday afternoon. Hilliard said chancellor Phil DiStefano has accepted Bohn's resignation.

"I can tell you Mike has resigned as athletic director and that Chancellor DiStefano has accepted his resignation," Hilliard said in a phone interview.

A news conference is being worked out, Hilliard said. Bohn's resignation is effective June 3, the school said.

.@porterhouse70 You think he'd be floored by his own voluntary resignation? You're floored when it's involuntary.

Again, you can call it a resignation if you like. His hand was forced. A forced resignation. Nobody resigns with 3 yrs left on contract.

"Resigned" may be the politically correct way to put it. But when I asked him if he was shocked by the move, his response "I'm floored".

In fact, Bohn dismissed with THREE years left on his contract.

RT @DenverSportNews: ALERT: Mike Bohn resigns as Colorado Buffaloes athletic director: http://po.st/aRWM4m ---- did NOT resign. Forced.

Again, I can confirm CU has parted ways with AD Mike Bohn: "I am floored".

Trying to pay attention to Roy amid story that Mike Bohn has been let go by CU. Just received a text from Bohn: "I am floored".

Really? You were in charge during the worst five years of Colorado football in probably 40 years as the ATHLETICS Director and you're "floored" they wanted you gone?

Should have happened before they allowed him to hire McIntyre.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

A couple of people have said it has to do with fundraising - one of these people said that a couple major donors wanted him out. Don't know if that is true or not.

Usually how it works. But I'm not sure what actually changed between December and now.

Default Mike Bohn forced out as Colorado Buffaloes athletic director

Some new things in article - from article:

In a surprising move, Mike Bohn is out as the athletic director at the University of Colorado after eight years. Colorado administrators forced Bohn out, said a source with knowledge of the situation.

Colorado appointed former women's basketball coach Ceal Barry as interim athletic director until a replacement is found.

Just because you're ignorant of the fact, doesn't mean that Colorado doesn't have a fine history in football.

I suggest Wikipedia or maybe www.cubuffs.com.

    Wrong coach and university.

You're thinking of Hawkins' "This isn't intramurals, brutha" tirade.

104.3 always plays that when they're talking about Hawkins. Sorry about that.
