Default Week 12 Upsets and Selections & Flamable Thread

Well here is to a Happy Thanksgiving to all.

    now its time to
    Med LOl

    here is this weeks slate

    Favorite Line Underdog Not Used
    Green Bay (9-1-0) 3.5 Detroit (6-4-0) None
    Dallas (9-1-0) 14.5 NY Jets (2-8-0) None
    Indianapolis (8-2-0) 12.5 Atlanta (3-7-0) None
    Jacksonville (7-3-0) 7.5 Buffalo (5-5-0) None
    Chicago (4-6-0) 2.5 Denver (5-5-0) None
    Cleveland (6-4-0) 3.5 Houston (5-5-0) None
    NY Giants (7-3-0) 6.5 Minnesota (4-6-0) None
    New Orleans (4-6-0) 2.5 Carolina (4-6-0) None
    Kansas City (4-6-0) 5.5 Oakland (2-8-0) None
    Seattle (6-4-0) 2.5 St.Louis (2-8-0) None
    Tennessee (6-4-0) 1.5 Cincinnati (3-7-0) None
    Tampa Bay (6-4-0) 2.5 Washington (5-5-0) None
    Arizona (5-5-0) 10.5 San Francisco (2-8-0) None
    San Diego (5-5-0) 9.5 Baltimore (4-6-0) None
    New England (10-0-0) 23.5 Philadelphia (5-5-0) None
    Pittsburgh (7-3-0) 15.5 Miami (0-10-0) None

My first pick is the Det Lions plus 3.5 at home vs GB

yes GB is a great team this year but Det for the most
part, especially in the Dome, has done quite well

Also GB does not feel like a 14-2 type team to me
and if they keep winning all their games, that is what they will
end up as. I see them as a 12-4 or 13-3 team.

Det 27 GB 24 in a Wildly entertaining game.

second pick I really like is Seattle minus 2.5 at St Louis
if the Hawks want to win the NFC West they must win this
game and I think they will 31-21.
St Louis cant win 3 in a row, can they

third pick KC minus 5.5 over Oakland.
Oak has burned me a lot this year and I feel that
on the road with Marshmellow Arm Cullpepper
vs a good KC defense and the emotional feeling
with Priest Holmes retiring today, I like KC
    to prevail 21-13.

fourth pick Wash plus 3.5 at Tampa
the Redskins showed me a lot last week at Dallas
they played very well and Jason Campbell is
looking more and more comfortable at QB

upset special. Skins 27 Tampa 20

what are the great people here thoughts

remember I like to try to mix in upsets.
it is too boring to say I like a favorite to win
    over an underdog every time.

The Titans beat the Bengals by at least 17. Vince Young is the best player out of that draft class and if the Titans had any real WRs they would have beaten then Broncos.

We can't stop the run, we make any bad WR Corps look good, and Young is going to run on us all day. The Titans also have a very good defense and if they get Haynesworth back our joke of a RB Rudi Johnson is going to look worse then usual. I am guessing the Titans get 42 points and we get 21.

Our upset special is the same pick
I got the Skins winning that game as well.

I have the Packers beating the Lions somewhere around 19-14.
    Crosby will get 4 FGs.

I agree with you on the Chiefs/Raiders game.

I also have the Rams to win outright... YIKES
Thats probably my upset special when I think about it.

And I predict the Pats will put up at least 63 points this week.

And I agree with you on the favorites to win.
Most people who know me think that I'm nuts because I tend to pick upsets and stuff. I dont overload on upsets but I hate people who are always picking the favorites and are shaking with fear because they picked 1 team who was an underdog by a point and they are afraid to get it wrong. Take some chances. I sure do and so do you Med.

I always like these flamable threads..

No flaming from me once again this week.

I can't say I agree with the Packers losing to the Lions.

I would not expect you do.
Most are always going to go with the better team
and GB is clearly the better team.

and I always say its not that simple.
I try to factor in emotion, the look ahead factor (GB is at Dallas next week)
how good is the team, Det smoked Den this year and is
pretty good IMO. Also Denver should have beaten GB or at
least tried better too, (throw it in the end zone and not be
    so conservative etc)

if that were the case the 98 Broncos never lose at the NYG

the Colts in 2005 never lose to SD and Pitt

    etc.

I try to take all factors and put them into the game

IMHO its boring to say NE wins 54-3 whoope do
people really went out on a limb there

take care SR and you are what we are truly thankful for
    fighting for our beloved Country

    I always salute you

this is for fun with football, what you do is for real life
its way way way (cant right way a million times)
    more important than and enterainment

Denver also lost to the Dolphins in 98 before beating the Seahawks in their 16th game.

I think its funny that Denver lost to the Fins and Giants in 98 and they lost to the Fins and Giants in 2005. Then we lost to the Chiefs. I was hoping for a repeat of that season.

But so far its a pretty good halftime. When I checked my yahoo pick ems I was shocked to see everyone pick the Packers. I thought some people would pick the Lions. I contemplated and then realized that the Packers IMO are the much better team. They are feeling much more confident then the Lions. A few weeks ago I would probably have picked the Lions. The guy I'm playing in FF has Hanson, Kitna, and Roy Williams so the Lions better suck the second half.

    John Kitna sucks

cant get only fgs in the first two drives when dominating the game and only be up 6-0. Bad teams do that.

They very easily could have been up 14-0 but this is why they are still the Lions. Their 6-2 start was a mirage

Good teams like GB pounce on mistakes and make them TDS... Hope the Lions go 8-8 as they clearly are still very very mediocre in my book.

okay little upset with them. I THOUGHT they were
very good by the win over Denver. I was wrong

maybe made a bit of a snap judgement but this
was a very frustrating game to watch.

Kitna throws into coverage as much as Grossman
does and is lucky he only threw one pick

Farve is amazing and I salute him for today
maybe I should believe in them more

your upset in them? Did you bet serious cash?
And I dont bet against Favre any more. After the Broncos game I havn't picked against him.

The Lions 6-2 start was a mirage. I wasn't impressed that they beat us 44-7. I've only picked them to win 1 game after they beat us and I picked the Packers every game.

This could be a special year for Favre.

As long as its not Romo I guess.

    great pick SR.

but the Lions squandered chances to possibly go up 14-0
that is why they are the Lions still

Kitna throws too many shaky passes.
they are not as pathetic as last year but are on their
    way to 8-8.

JC I never bet big money on football. Its for fun
and only a pool for $5 a week with a total wins out of 16 per week
    and for the season

on the Cowboys, I disagree with both of you and like
    Dallas because at home

    only time will tell..

The Packers are going to get KILLED. Tony Romo (this year)>Favre. TO>Donald Driver. Jason Witten> packers overrated secondary. Barber and Jones>packers defense. The Cowboys are the team that the Packers match up poorly with. People are making this team out to be better then they are because they LOVE Brett Favre. The Cowboys also have another thing going for them, it is called Romo Luck. Seriously, this guy is golden this year ><.

I also pity the fool (MR. T style son!) that thinks a banged up Charles Woodson and KGB can hang with that insane Cowboy O.
