This is the last year I stand in line for beer and it will be the last time for BCBS/Goose Island. Their poor allotment for CO, despite their boasts last year that ABI would make for more this year, was just the start. Half the bottles were cracked or had other defects.
I can think of locals that are by far and away better anyway
BCBS Coffee is great. Avery's Tweak. Epic's Big Bad Baptist are way better.
BCBS Barleywine is awesome- Bligh's Barleywine is light years better
BCBS Stout- is great but I would put the Woodcut 7, Uncle Jacob, Czar, and many others.
So while they are getting away with the Black Friday madness of make your customers stand in line for beer like Tyrone Biggums at a 5 o'clock free crack giveaway, at some point there will be blow back. I heard a lot of similar frustration today.

So I picked up Goose Island The Muddy, their Imperial Stout brewed with Licorice. I am not impressed with it, their sourness with the brew that I find really off putting. Amazing the folks at BA really like this one, but I don't.
"We saw it…. the hussars let loose their horses. God, what power! They ran through the smoke and the sound was like that of a thousand blacksmiths beating with a thousand hammers
They rush on to the Swedes! They crash into the Swedish riters…. Overwhelm them! They crash into the second regiment - Overwhelmed! Resistance collapses, dissolves, they move forward as easily as if they were parading on a grand boulevard
weazel great pic (beer porn.....)
I'm going with Clown Shoes Undead Party Crasher ( a great Imperial American Stout). I love their labels

Having my first ever Samuel Smith Pure Brewed Organic Lager. And it is damn nice.
Today I killed:
Odell Woodcut #5 (2011) Belgian Quad. Odell may be the best brewer in America. Hands down. I don't think they brew a bad beer. Their Woodcut series has been exceptional.
2013 Copper Kettle Snowed In- Nice Oatmeal Stout aged in Breckenridge Bourbon Barrels. It is a nice beer but B3 is as nice, if not better, for less.
Odell has a barley wine, I can't remember what it's called but it's in my top three, maybe even favorite ever
Free Hotcarl!
I'm a sucker for warley wine they did the India barley wine a few years back. This year, their woodcut 8 is a barley wine and it is awesome. The best one so far, for me anyway, has been Bligh's by Dry Dock. That is a damn good beer.
