I don't understand why you would need to add corn syrup to any brew. I can understand the GMO grains but not corn syrup.

They rush on to the Swedes! They crash into the Swedish riters…. Overwhelm them! They crash into the second regiment - Overwhelmed! Resistance collapses, dissolves, they move forward as easily as if they were parading on a grand boulevard

So I bought some Goose Island Honker's Ale and it very so-so. It's English Bitter I should be drinking it a room temp rather than the slightly chilled I started it at, but I am not a fan.

I am a huge fan of Goose Island's Brown. I think ABI is quietly beginning to tweak some of the recipes and formulas. It isn't what it was back in December. I know because I had one bottle from December tucked away in my beer box and new bottles just purchased. Poured side by side they are noticeably different. I wonder if it is the same with the Honkers and their entire line up. ABI would be crazy to touch the Bourbon County line.
They sold out to Anheuser-Busch InBev. The original brewery is still there and they make limited quantities of brews for sell, but most of the stuff is now done by InBev then disturbed by them. The story - http://www.suntimes.com/business/454...userbusch.html

So for some stupid reason I bought Samuel Adams Long Shot 6 Pack. SA every years holds a contest between home-brewers and creates a limited run of the winner's brews. This years was an American Stout, Smoked Beer (Gratzer) and Pineapple IPA. I was very disappointed. I like the idea that SA does, but wish the brews were better. And yes I will buy a Long Shot 6 pack next year just to support the home-brewers that win.

I'm going to be in Denver for some work training the second week in June, so I'm going out a bit earlier to enjoy the beer scene. Anything in particular Bar/Brewery wise that anyone in CO recommends?
"There's a box of Twinkies in that grocery store. Not just any box of Twinkies, the last box of Twinkies that anyone will enjoy in the whole universe. Believe it or not, Twinkies have an expiration date. Some day very soon, Life's little Twinkie gauge is gonna go... empty."
