    Default North's 2013 Mock Draft 2.5

Yea, i know. People are going to say "What?!!! How can you have more picks WITH Doom on the team?!!!"

Simple, its the Northman way. The reality is, with Doom we have a lot more leeway to gamble. Without, we have to be more thoughtful in our selections. But, here are my scenario's (what i would do if possible) with or without Doom on the Broncos. Again, the template here is that if your favorite player wasnt selected it means they were taken before i drafted these players.

    With Doom:

(2nd) Kevin Minter LB (LSU)(Denver trades back with Pitt for 2nd, 4th, and 6th)(from Pitt)
    (2nd) Dallas Thomas G/OT (Tenn)
    (3rd) Jon Bostic LB (Florida)
(4th) Marcus Lattimore RB (South Carolina)(from Pitt)
    (4th) Stepfan Taylor RB (Stanford)
    (5th) Javon Harris S (Oklahoma)
(6th) Terrance Brown CB (Stanford)(from Pitt)
(7th) Nathan Williams DE/OLB (Ohio St)

    Without Doom:

(1st) Tank Carradine DE (Florida St)
(2nd) Ryan Swope WR (Texas A&M)
    (3rd) Jon Bostic LB (Florida)
(4th) Marcus Lattimore RB (South Carolina)
    (5th) Javon Harris S (Oklahoma)
    (7th) Terrence Brown CB (Stanford)

I like the draft without Doom the best. Although I'd be tempted to grab a DT instead of Swope

I was actually still tempted to take Thomas but i also felt that outside of the main 3 WR's we have if one goes down it wouldnt be a bad idea to have Swope there. I think (just like most receivers/te's) he would excell under Manning for growth.

Either way. If we (barring some terrible reaches) get those guys there I'll be stoked

Understandable. But I think I'm right in saying that IF Swoop is still there by the time we pick in the 2nd. He'd be a lock for BPA. And that's tough to pass up.

No arguments on the Swope pick. I'd be thrilled if it happened. Hard to go wrong either way

Have we met with any of these players? Swope, I think. Besides that?

I like the without doom one the best. But I could also see a Cardine/Wolfe/Knighton/Doom DL too. With Vickerson on rotation for running plays like bannan was.

I like the players in the other one too, but you double up some positions where we might be able to add depth elsewhere

Well I guess its the w/o Doom one!! (which is better anyway). I would be pretty pleased with that draft. Maybe Lattimore is a risk, maybe the need at WR doesn't warrant a second rounder, but still good.

Yea, at this stage not sure i would still spend the 2nd on a WR but when i go to do my final mock we shall see what happens.

if Denver targets tank carradine, they could trade back and still get him. I would assume if they miss out on Trufant/Hopkins they will try to trade back and could get him.

I'm really not sure about us taking a corner up there. I know quite a few mocks have us taking Trufant, but the need doesn't seem to be that great. Would he be BPA there? Is the draft that deep at corner? I just think DE, MLB, S and even RB are much bigger needs. I have to admit I haven't seen that much of Trufant, is he a top guy? I know Champ is getting older, but our window is now and I'm not sure using our first pick on a CB helps us in the immediate future.

    Maybe.

At the time that i drafted him he was projected to go to somebody in the first round. Whether or not his stock drops before now and the draft i dont know i havent looked at any rankings as of late.

Yea, unfortuantely most of the mocks ive seen have Trufant going between 15-20 so im not sure how realistically Denver has as a chance to get him unless they trade up.
