DRAFT
I originally projected us to trade picks, but for the time being, I'll just project us with the picks we have now.
#28- Barrett Jones OL Alabama. Smart, versatile guy who has played every position on the O-line. Great value pick here, regardless of how we shuffle our O-line.
#58- Brandon Williams DT Missouri Southern. Small school guy who has their record in sacks and has impressive size (6'2, 341 lbs). He had a great week at the senior bowl and looks to have put any "he faced small school competition" worries behind him. Good character guy with a good work ethic. He'd be a fantastic anchor for Del Rio's defense.
#90- Stepfan Taylor RB Stanford. 3 down back with some upside. I like Taylor, but I think this pick is a bit of a pipe dream. Not that I think that he'll be taken early, but I have a feeling a RB needy team like the Steelers or Jets will take him earlier in the 3rd. For the time being, I'll mock him to us because he's a great fit.
#122- Jon Bostic LB Florida. Possible starter. Could compete with Irving for the job in camp.
5th round- Conner Vernon WR Duke. Ideal slot receiver type. Not a great or flashy athlete, but intelligent guy who runs great routes and has a knack for making plays. Could be a great replacement to Stokley after next season.
7th round- Shamarko Thomas SS Syracuse. Hard hitting, no non sense player who could add depth and be a good run stuffer.
I'll add to this with my mock off-season later on, but this is what I got for now.
