Thread: Giants release Ahmad Bradshaw

    Default Giants release Ahmad Bradshaw

With Mcgehee's injury, hillman not being an every down type of back, Moreno having a lot of questions regarding durability and big time ability, and no one else really standing out I could see Bradshaw being a good stop-gap while we look for youth in the draft.

Not necessarily opposed to it as long as he would be cheap.

    Default Giants release Ahmad Bradshaw

I think we could have beaten the Ravens with a better run game. I think Bradshaw would provide the same lift Mcgahee did 2 years ago to this team. He is a guy we could get quality starts out of for a year or two while developing some younger talent.

Bradshaw has injury concerns himself. He is recovering from foot surgery as we speak and has always had a problem with that. I don't think his running style is that much different than
    Moreno's.

If he's healthy, he's fast and can break a fifty yard TD run like a man. He definitely would have some value for the Broncos if they went that way.

That's crazy that they did that. He's a good back when healthy. Bradshaw, McGahee and Moreno and were set!!!

But word is the Titans will also be releasing Chris Johnson.

Players are usually released for one of two reasons.

They want too much money, or they're done.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Bradshaw has been having foot problems for years. He just had a small screw in his foot replaced by a larger one to hold a fracture together better. He will be 28 when the season starts and will probably be fairly expensive for an injury prone back.

No thanks. There will be better options out there somewhere.

The Giants have another back they are ready to move into the starting role. Its what the Giants do, and are good at doing. With Wilson now their man, they have moved on. Doesn't mean Bradshaw doesn't have more mileage on his tires, though. I think he would work well here for a couple years. He's always been good, and is good in the passing game as well.

Forget what I said above about the Titans releasing Chris Johnson. I was referring to some Twitter messages yesterday.

    PFT just released this:

Titans remain expected to keep Chris Johnson

Posted by Mike Florio on February 6, 2013, 4:02 PM EST

Titans running back Chris Johnson stirred up some intrigue on Tuesday by suggesting on Twitter that he doesn’t know whether the team will keep him beyond February 9, which would transform $9 million of his $10 million base salary into a fully guaranteed payment.

A source with knowledge of the situation tells PFT that the Titans have done nothing to suggest that Johnson will be released.
