Thread: CU Buffs college football recruit Sefo Liufau could ignite offense as new quarterback

When quarterback Sal Aunese died of stomach cancer in September 1989, the Colorado football team, playing in his honor, made it all the way to a game that would have won the national championship.

Twenty four years later, the memory of Aunese may inspire the Buffaloes again.

It's way too early to tell whether quarterback Sefo Liufau will lift Colorado out of its doldrums. The kid is still a senior in high school, trying to lead Bellarmine Prep in Tacoma, Wash., to the state basketball playoffs.

But considering the state of Colorado's wide-open quarterback position, the three-star recruit who will sign with the Buffaloes on Feb. 6 might get on the field in a hurry once he arrives in Boulder.

Well it couldn't get any worse.

Yeah, he needs to knock-up the coaches daughter and get cancer. That ought to fire the team up.
