Default Ed Reed Will Play Next Season

The Ravens have been using linebacker Ray Lewis‘ pending retirement as motivation during their run to the Super Bowl, but they won’t be getting another jolt of inspiration from one of the team’s other defensive leaders.

Safety Ed Reed has flirted with retirement over the last couple of offseasons before returning to Baltimore. He was asked about his plans for the future on Thursday and sticki

ng to his answer will mean that there won’t be any flirtation this time around. Reed said he’d “just bought a bike” when asked if this is his last ride and then made things even more explicit.

“I’ll be playing next year. Next question,” Reed said, via Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun.

I'm not on the 'cut Rahim Moore' bandwagon, I'm just a huge fan of Ed Reed- even at his current age. He'll be an unrestricted free agent after the super bowl. With Ray Lewis retiring, I think he goes to a place that he feels gives him the best chance to win a ring. He also never said that he's only going to play for one more year. This could be an interesting target for Elway and company.

We do have a history of milking good seasons out of safeties at the end of their career. I'd be up for trying it again

Ugh... I remember us taking Ashley Lelie in the first round instead of Reed the year they came out. Hell, I was pissed then and still am now.

John Lynch was a gamble because of the problems with his neck. And he did miss time with Denver because of his neck the year he retired.

Reed is awesome, but he'll come with a HUGE price tag. Denver already has Peyton and Champ making serious money and Clady is going to want top LT money. We need to just stick with what we've got and hope it's improved next year like it was this year.

Obviously the price would have to be right...but we're just playing Madden here. We're trading for Revis and signing Reed

I would be against revis all the way!

But I would love to sign reed. He could really, like actually, be the guy that puts us over the top.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

I think my neighbors might have called the cops on me for screaming for Ed Reed when we drafted Lelie. One of the few times I was right and the FO was wrong. Wilfork over DJ and Ray Lewis over Mobley were the others I can think of at the moment.
