Tebow is not an NFL QB.

Except one that you keep trying to dismiss. Out of all those teams that made it they all can pass the ball with better efficiency. Now what you got? Last i checked, Wilson, Kaep, Newton, etc arent being traded or sitting on the bench behind third stringers. Yes, last year was an Aberration because right now the league doesnt believe that Tebow is on the same level as the other guys you tried to use as a crutch.
We will see if that is the case next year...and it seem the odds are that it very well may be that he won't be starting next year or ever again, for that matter.

I think Tim's situation with NY this year had every bit as much to do with politics as it did his play..It is now coming out that the Jets owner felt pushed to acquire Tebow (whether that is believeable or not, your guess is as good as mine), so it would seem with how much $$ they are on the hook for with Sanchez that the last thing they needed would be for Tebow to trot out there and win a couple games, crushing any chance of selling any notion of bringing back Sanchez and forcing them to eat millions...(That's just my Pro-Tebow opinion of how it played out though lol)

And I'm not dismissing the fact that those guys are more efficient...Just because they might be better doesn't mean Tebow can't succeed...For example, Andy Dalton is not as effective Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, or Drew Brees, but he can run the same offense good enough to win, just not as efficiently.

Again, I'm not saying Tebow is, or ever will be a world-beater...But I do see him as a guy who is a capable starting QB in this league if put in the right system/situation.

When he doesn't start next year, can you be done with this nonsense Van?

Well, I suppose there is always hope and change. He's a great kid but I just don't see it happening.

    Yeah...most people don't...

I guess I'm the Lloyd Christmas of these boards thinking that there still is a chance.

Eventually you'll just have to let go and embrace now instead of dwelling on the past.

Tebow's best bet would be a gimmick offense like the garbage Oregon runs, but, I would think Vick, Geno Smith and even Darron Thomas would make far better options. Options that will be readily available to the Eagles.

Can Tebow make it in Kelly's offense? Anything is possible, but why would you want to? Serious question; why bother?.......

Didn't Tebow break his ribs every year with Denver? He broke them again with NYJ. He's not fast, so he's not going to run around people. He has to try to run THROUGH them, and he keeps breaking his ribs. How long can that go on? Had he been the starter and broke his ribs with the amount of playing time he had with NY, how many games can you expect him to miss?

If he can't throw, and he can't run past people, how is that playing the QB position in the NFL?

I don't see Tebow ever getting a starting job in the NFL as a QB, and hope that he goes to the CFL so that he can have a successful playing career.

Yeah, he has broken his ribs a few times..so that is a valid point.

I will say though that the way he broke them in NY was a bit different because they were just using him as a straight up battering ram and on special teams...Not quite the way he was running in Denver...plus when he broke them in the playoffs against NE i believe it was on a passing play, so your point, while valid, is somewhat debateable.

You are also right that he's not one that posesses elite burner speed, but he does get from 0-60 very quickly (as evidenced by his record cone drill times, and other agility drills in the combine) and is above average in that regard.

Regardless, he will have to improve in the passing game to really succeed IMO...everyone said he was a 3-4 year project when he came out, so year 4 is coming up and we'll see...I do think his ability to run the read-option will at least give him a punchers chance to get another shot that he wouldn't otherwise sniff.

as long as casserly continues to suggest that TT has ANY value as a QB, all NFL teams will veto any thought of casserly as a rational analyst of football and will continue to ignore ANY chance of having charlie do ANYTHING for their teams.
    not GM
not director of player personnel, not lockerroom towel-boy, nothing !
because a worthless sack of shit like jemarcus russel is a better example of a QB than TT.
