Default Tebow a Good Fit for Eagles?...Charley Casserly Thinks So

    http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-networ...for-the-Eagles

Could TT run a Chip Kelly style offense?

Casserly outlines a couple of reasons why he thinks its a good fit in this vid...

I agree with him (surprise, surprise, I know)...I think when Tebow played for us, really the only time he looked decent was in the 4th qtr when we opened things up and played at a faster pace.

I think with all the success we've seen with read-option principles (Kaepernick, Wilson, RG3, Newton) this year, teams might be a little more intrigued by Tebow than maybe I would have previously thought.

    Thoughts?

Tebow doesn't throw the ball nearly as well as any of the other guys you named.

This is true...However, that doesn't mean he couldn't run the offense successfully...Maybe not as effectively or efficiently as those guys, but still good enough to win games, perhaps.

TEBOW will not be a starting QB anywhere in the NFL.
    neither will sanchez.
a team looking for hype or a chance to sell tickets and jerseys might hire TT.
I dont know what the attraction will be for sanchez... hispanic following ?
maybe sanchez can garner some interest from SD ?

No couldn't and no he's not even close to same level as the guys mentioned.

I think Sanchez will be the starter at least going in to the year...I just don't see what else the Jets can do with him since they are paying him that type of $$....Doubt the Jets have the cajones the Seahawks displayed last year when they decided to eat the Flynn $$ and start Wilson.

Unless the Jets are able to make some sort of creative move and move Sanchez, that is...

So if Sanchez is on their roster, he'll be the day 1 starter...I could see them benching him really quick though if he continues to play like the crappy QB he is.

Nick Foles > Tebow. I highly doubt Philly would bring in someone like Tebow after everything with Vick.

Jaguars may be the only team to benefit from having Tebow on their team and that would be ticket sales, then again, Gator fans may be over him and that train may have run it's course as well. I don't see a team taking a chance to make him a starting QB. I liked Tebow while he was here, but he has too much baggage. I wish him luck though.

The Jags new GM already said that they're not interested in Tebow. So there's that.

If you watch the linked vid, Casserly states that Foles isn't a good fit for Chip Kelly's offense and expects the Eagles to bring in 2 new QB's to run it...

Of course, he's just speculating, and who knows exactly what elements of his Oregon offense Chip Kelly plans on bringing to the NFL.

Interesting....I wonder if he'll stick to it.

Kelly will have to adapt his system to the NFL and I see no reason why Foles couldn't be successful to be honest. Either way, Tebow isn't the answer. They'd be better off with just about every other QB available.

I still say it remains to be seen whether Tebow can be successful or not...In the one chance he got, he won games despite being young, inexperienced, and raw.

As for Foles, if Kelly wants to run his base principles then Foles won't be a good fit since he's about as mobile as Tom Brady.

Successful pocket passing QB's are few and far in between...There's only about 25% that are actually successful while the rest are just somebody a team trots out there trying to do what everyone else is doing.

The success rate of the read-option has thus far been much higher...out of the 5 QB's who have run it, 4 have made the playoffs in year 1 (Kaepernick, RG3, Wilson, Tebow) and the other has at least put up huge numbers (Newton)...I think what the read option does is make defenses play more honestly to the run and it helps QB's by giving them more 1on1 matchups downfield, making it much easier to beat defenses without actually having to stand back there and read them..

The read option doesn't necessarily make a QB better, it just dictates what a defense does and makes it easier on QB's by freezing Linebackers and giving QB's easy reads...I think its something more offenses are going to try to do, as finding a QB that can run a conventional offense effectively is statistically harder than winning at Blackjack in Vegas...The way QB's are being trained in college will dictate this offensive rennaisance as well.

More and more teams will be looking at this offense, and consequently looking for a QB to run it.
