Never read him. He's probably overrated and has funky hair.

I'm trying to think of the philosophers I was into back when I cared about philosophy.

Epicurus was and is my dog.

I was big into Thoreau, insofar as he was a philosopher.

I liked all of the easterny zen stuff. Buddha, Laozi, Bruce Lee, the like.

I say this with all due respect...you are a god damned fool. Thoreau was and forever will be trash.

He lived in a fantasy world filled with stupid ideas that could never come to fruition and poor arguments. Absolute worst.

I don't know why I like you, Abe, but I do.

Idealism is fun when you're in high school. I have a Walden shirt. The buddhist phase was influential and fun. At the end of the day, philosophy is a waste of time. "Follow your bliss" - Joseph Campbell

I am not as likable as Nomad - but who is?

Philosophy can help someone account for the world and it's history, and it teaches people how to logically approach issues. It's underutilized, and the notion of "Follow your bliss," is idealism at it's worst. I feel like you secretly hate me. I don't know why. It's probably just because I am intimidated by your simple, yet effective approach to life.

I'm sorry, Val. I didn't mean to fail you.

    But, live moves on.

In regards to reading, I think I'm going to reread the book on the Central Park Five.

So does life. Life moving on also makes more sense.
