Do you have a favorite? Story?

I'm reading Joshi's Black Wings of Cthulhu v. 1 off and on right now.

My favorite of his is Call of Cthulhu.
Read "Dreams in the Witch House" last night and forgot how grim it was.
    He was definitely a master.

    Have you ever played "Bloodborne"?
It's basically H.P Lovecraft's world, especially Arkham, brought to life.
    Great game.

    No, what genre of game?

I have a hard time picking one favorite. Let's say The Case of Charles Dexter Ward and Shadow over Innsmouth.

I am reading a book now called Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. 74/400ish pages in.

This is going to be my best book of 2017.

Recommend to any who read The Martian, Wool, Justin Cronin's books, or like Michael Crichton's more science-oriented works.

Welp, that was a good book. Comparable to Sphere, although I think Crichton is the better writer, while this book has the better idea and execution (and ending). Better get some sleep now, gotta be up at 6.

I'm cleaning my bookshelves tonight--getting big piles for donation or sale or something.

I horde books. I have many unread in my collection.

This culling of books is mildly exciting. I have a pile of books that I'm going to toss, but maybe there is one or two I need to keep and read.

The First American, Brand (about Ben Franklin)
    Modern Times, Paul Johnson
    Hamilton, Chernov
    Manhunt (hunt for Lincoln's killer)
    Rebecca, Daphne du Maurier
    .. etc.

I've tried reading Marcel Proust, but it didn't take. I was all ready to pitch Swann's Way, but I think I need to gut it out. Even if, as Cormac McCarthy says, he doesn't deal with issues of life and death. It's going back on the new, much more highly-selective bookshelf.

As the son of an English Professor and Librarian, I respect that collection.

I can't pull the trigger on pitching The Nicomachean Ethics into the void. I should do it anyway.

I'm on the fence about sending-to-void both Joyce's Ulysses and Pynchon's Gravity's Rainbow.

My gut says to skip them, but I hate to pass up a tasty exotic dish. Thoughts?

    That's a shame.
It's a fantastic book that I read every couple of years.
