Girlfriend got me Moneyball for my birthday and I'm just starting to read it. I loved the movie so I'm really looking forward to the book.

I just finished The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo. Excellent read. I wish I had not seen the movie first, the book would have been awesome without knowing most of the plot. But even with the movie knowledge the book was fantastic. I will definitely read it again in a few years....

Just started The Golden Ocean by Patric Obrien of the Aubrey/Marturin fame. Semi True story of the first circumnavigation of the world....
    I have been a fan since 1960....

I have book 12 waiting for me to read. The series does get stale past book 9. I had hoped the series would end after book 10, but no. It just keeps going. Anyhow, my cat Bob is named after the character from that series.

I'm halfway through "Tricked," the 4th book of the Iron Druid Chronicles, by Kevin Hearne. He mixes mythology with modern day pop fiction. It's a fun, easy read. It's going to be a 7 book series. Book 5 "Trapped" comes out late November. The last two books will most likely be published next year.

I'm reading Wilbur Smith for the first time in nearly twenty years.
He was my favourite author during my college days.
At the moment I'm half through "Elephant Song". It's an exciting page turner and hard to put down.

I finished the other two Dragon (Millennium) books. Some of the best reading I have done in a long time. Re-reading Robert Ludlum's Bourne series now ....

One for the Money by Janet Evanovich. Series was recommended by my mom and the first one has been really funny. I find myself giggling as I read.

    Finished the True Blood Series.

Ended up reading Phillipina Gregory's new one, the Kingmakers Daughter in between the True Blood's 12 books. It was a great book and was quite a recovery from her book The Lady of the Rivers which was the only book by her that was completely unreadable. She is an excellent historical novel writer and I've probably read 15 books by her and that one just killed me. This one was fantastic and got through it in a couple days.

The True Blood series of 12 books took me about a month all together, just to tell you how good they are. They just released 13 so I need to pick that one up.

I read Gregory's "A Respectable Trade" way back. Excellent novel. I really should read more of her stuff.
Any one of her book's in particular you would recommend?

My wife is a dedicated Janet Evanovich fangirl. Takes her forever to finish one because she keeps getting overcome with a serious fits of the giggles whenever she is reading one. She keeps telling me Lula stories from them.
