I can't wait to read that one!!! I think Santa is bringing it, so I can't get it for myself!

I am a big Michael Crichton fan, so I am looking forward to getting Pirates Latitude and checking it out. Too bad he passed, one of my favorite authors.

Just bought Lovely Bones, the book they based the new Mark Wahlberg movie on. I saw the trailers and figured it would be a good read. It starts out really horrifically and I am physically angry reading it, but I'm holding out for the outcome. Effing child murderers....GRRRR!

I'm reading "Dead to the World" - book 4 of the True Blood series. Mr. G. is reading "The Lost Symbol."

    The Road- Cormac McCarthy

This guy is easily one of my favorite writers. I read this 2 years ago, just saw the movie (which is fantastic) and am going through it again. It reads like a stream of consciousness.

Great book. It's so goddamn grim bit it is impossible to put it down. I love his writing style as well. I just finished No Country for Old men and am looking for more of his stuff...

The ending feels more like a stopping point in the book and is very melloncollie. It flows better than the movie. The movie is out of order compared with the book, but they compliment and strengthen each other.

I haven't read the book, but I'm one of those whackos who thought the ending of the movie was perfect.

There's no happy ribbons and bows tied on our life at the end. We all eventually move on and then die. It is "no country for old men". The young shape the culture and the world we live in.

Any other ending would have completely white-washed the whole message of the movie.

I agree with you. I thought the ending was perfect. Open ended, a comma instead of a period. The book is fantastic, you should pick it up.

I finished this one in 2 days. It was a good read. Such a sad start but it ended very well.

I need to get to the library, I told nut I would read Lonesome Dove.
