Jairus Byrd and William Moore, I hear they're pretty good.......

Ed Reed's not too shabby either.

The two first round rated safeties are Vaccaro and Elam. The next tier (2nd-3rd rounders) is heavy in quantity and decent in quality. There are a ton of prospects in this draft. I think the Broncos are pretty happy with what Rahim Moore did in the regular season. He was much improved. Quinton Carter may also turn out to be a decent player if he can get on the field and stay on it.

I'll take Louis Delmas or William Moore in free agency if the Broncos are looking to upgrade the position.

All season long I thought we'd be okay at Safety, especially with Carter coming back next season. But after watching the last 2 playoffs, I just don't think Carter is enough. We keep getting burnt.

WalterFootball has us taking Robert Lester from Alabama in the 3rd.

Does anyone know about CB to S conversions? I like that CB from Georgia, he's almost 6'3". Could he play S?

(Don't let this comment be a distraction but) Some consideration has to be made whether it's time to transition Champ to S. Only because there's no point adding a high draft pick at the position if that is a consideration. Moore improved a lot, but that play is the type that could break a young player.

I think I'd rather add a solid veteran and continue to let Moore develop, unless a potential game-changer is available when we're on the clock.
    If not me, who?

I don't even want a game changer. I want a center fielder who won't let guys get behind him. That's all I want.

On the topic of Champ, obviously it will be his decision when he moves. Maybe he's ready now. Maybe he's not. If he moves, I'd like to be able to grab a CB like John Banks from Miss St, if possible.

One of my all time favorite players here. He doesn't have much Sr. stuff out right now, hopefully he'll have some soon (he makes his own vids). But this is some stuff he did his Jr. year. He had another great season this year. He doesn't get a lot of pub playing in a conference with a 1st and 2nd team All-American in Elam and Reid, but the kids legit. 6'0 210, he's played SS, FS, and CB. He'll knock the snot boogers out of your nose, can play in the box, speed to play centerfeild, and has the footwork, hips, and speed to slide outside in man coverage. Dj Swearinger has done it all...

    Workout:

Short memory syndrome (1st penalty is on DJ):

A few things I noticed. I like the passion that he plays with. Reminds me of how the team talks about Woodyard. After the penalty, I like how he didn't swing his arms and cry like a baby. He clapped and seemed to shake it off.

I wonder if those penalties will carry over to the NFL. I'd hate for him to be suspended for the first game. :P

Walter has DJ rated 5-6 rounder. But he also has Prentiss Wagner from UT as 3-4, so I think his rankings are off. I still also like Thomas, that S from Fresno St

A good 40 could really help Swearinger which i what i'm expecting. Guessing late 4.4s. He held his own against Hunter who's 6'4? He probably should have been on Rogers that game.

The thing I don't like about the Fresno State kid is that he gambles and it doesn't always pay off.

I'm really hoping for someone who doesn't gamble. I don't want a playmaker. I want a consistent safety who doesn't take chances or gets fooled. I want him to take the correct angles and be in the right place that he's suppose to be in.
