I might tune in for a little bit. I hope the Irish get shut out. They are part of the problem with college football.

Go Irish! I'm looking forward to this one even more than USC/Texas a few years back.

Alabama and Notre Dame had some classic tussles back in the 1970s which led to the following joke (cleaned up for political correctness):

Q: What three things put fear in Bear Bryant's heart?

    A: A (African-American) with a gun, a (Hispanic-American) with a knife and a Catholic with a football.

Yes, we were more easily amused back then.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

I have a feeling Alabama is going to roll.

But I've been virtually wrong about everything this weekend, football related-wise.

I'll watch until I have to go to work.

Domers bandwagon is full because of Bama/SEC hate, so I'll pull for Bama.

Tinker.....Irish had one of the tougher schedules this season and they handled it accordingly by winning, but I do agree they need to find a conference so they play in a conference championship game. After this game, I guess it won't matter.....sort of.....with the 4 team playoff next year.

My issue is more that the ND Director of Athletics holds a seat on the BCS committee. No other school has a connection that direct to the BCS committee; that and their independent status irks me. They are the New York Yankees of College Football, and not in a "we've won the most championships" way.

I whiffed on Cincinnati. I thought Seattle sucked on the road. I thought Indianapolis would score quite a bit against Baltimore.

I did think Green Bay would win easily. So I've got that going for me.

But yes, my prediction is Alabama, easy.

I say Notre Dame plays them tough. Their defense is the real deal. I hope it's a nail biter.

So nut, since I'm Catholic and not pulling for the Domers, is that a sin?

I gotta root for Bama. A&M is arguably the best team in the nation at the moment and since we can prove it with a playoff format, at least I can say we beat the National Champions this year.

    Plus...I've hated ND since birth

Notre Dame is the first team/school in something like 50 years that is ranked #1 in both their football program and #1 in graduation rate (97% vs. Alabama's 75%).

If they're part of the problem with college football, then college football is doomed.
