I think what he was referring to is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Some schools have significant financial advantages in their athletic programs.

Maybe, but then rooting for Alabama is a curious decision considering that they rake in about twice as much football related revenue as Notre Dame. Alabama's "profit" is about the same as the total amount of revenue Notre Dame pulls in.

I think when Alabama gets a national TV contract it'll be fair in that aspect.

I have no issue with what you've said in this post. The absolute money grab that College Football is with only playing a large percentage of it's players with a college scholarship (if they survive 4 years of CFB) is problem #1. The NCAA is problem #2. The BCS and the amount of power that Notre Dame has in the BCS is probably in the top 10 of the list of issues with college football.

All that being said, this is the current heyday of CFB. When we get to the point where an SEC team has won 8 of the last 10 championships, I would think that people will really start to pay less attention to the product.

Then again, we are a country of people who rapidly consume Coke and McDonalds, so I may be the insane person here.

I'm so nervous about this game tonight. I'm from South Bend, I grew up there as a kid and even met Tim Brown when I was just 10. I moved to California when I was 12 but I stuck with being a Irish fan all of these years, Cal State Bears kinda being my 2nd team.

But Bama is no joke. In fact I would even say they would give the Kansas City Chiefs a run for their money. I have been talking with friends and family all day today that are also Irish fans and they share my nervousness because we all know Bama can drop 50 points on you. However NDs defense is insane and we have a solid running attack. We had also had a QB carousel for the past few years....but I think everything is coming together now. Kelly is a good college coach and so is Saban.

This is going to be a very difficult game for my Irish but I hope they can pull it off. This might end up being one of those classic battles.

I will be watching my boy Manti Te'o and I hope he steps up huge tonight.

    GOOOOOOOOO NOTRE DAME!!!!!!

SEC has not be wrecking havoc on bowl games. I have been hearing a lot about "tide turning" away from SEC. But its hard to bet against Bama and what Saban has built there. I desperately want Irish to win but I think Bama wins.

Enough talk already.....let's get this game started. Either Brian Kelly or Nick Saban is going to be an icon of their schools after tonight, if Saban isn't already. Lou Holtz will have to move over
