    Default Chiefs sign WR Lelie

The Chiefs are apparently still looking for the right mix at receiver.

Kansas City signed receiver Ashley Lelie on Monday. The speedster will compete for a backup role. This is his third stop in the AFC West. He previously played with Denver and Oakland.

Two weeks ago, Kansas City signed veteran receiver Amani Toomer. Both veterans could be in the rotation during the regular season.

*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

And to think at one time he was our long ball guy...what happened to that guy? You get in Shanny's doghouse and you get sent to 2 of the worst offenses in modern day NFL. YIKES.

“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

was there ever a guy whos career so went the wrong way after one stupid decision?
The strange thing is that all those receivers in the first round of that draft has been plagued with bringing bad news one way or another. And all showed flashes. And I suppose we only have to wait one year before Stallworth ends up in Jokeland.

I don't think you'll see Stallworth end up in Oakland. Guy made a mistake, but he's handled it very well, and taken responsibility for himself, and I have no doubt he'll take strides to make the necessary changes in his life to not make this a repeat mistake.
