Dickweed is simply a slang term. Somewher somebody made it up and it stuck. There is actually a motorcycle club full of idiots in my neck of the woods that calls themselves the Dickweeds. I couldnt think of a better name for that group of morons

How can a member "moderate" the board? Not trying to be obtuse, but I just don't understand what you are getting at.
When a member, or group of members, believe they have the right to attack another member, because they believe he is posting "wrong." Starting too many threads. Turning every thread into a discussion of player _____ or coach _____. Being too negative or any other behavior that members don't like, so they "take matters into their own hands."

In the instance of Zam, because he is the one example I can think of off the top, when people are "taking matters in to their own hands", then said member gets banned anyway, I don't really understand where the problem lies.

I think we need examples. Who did this and what did they do? You can change the names to protect the innocent. If they aren't innocent, then keep it as is.

I guess I just need to know if I am guilty of this. I don't see where I would be.

this seems to be what Zam has experienced I guess. I think it's up to every member to try to handle the situation if they feel they are being attacked. and if that fails, to contact a mod. I know that there are some people I've had to deal with in my own experiences on that matter and the situations do seem to be resolved a the moment. However, I do employ a damage control program

The problem is that it becomes very difficult to moderate a member who is disrupting the site if the problem is compounded by multiple other rule violations that the disruptive poster can point to at any time and say, "well look at XXXX's posts. . .they are doing the same thing to me that I did to YYYY."

It can very quickly get very difficult to untangle who did what, and who started what and take action to enforce the rules fairly.

If only one poster is in the wrong. . .then it's much easier.

I don't state this to make an argument with anyone. Just trying to clarify and clear up any confusion in response to your question.

So instead of calling Zam a retard for starting 3784287421 threads about someone/thing that there is already a thread for, we can politely say "Zam, there are already multiple threads about this. Your posting style is less than desireable. Please, at the mercy of your fellow board members, post less often"? I mean, there are no clear rule violations there.

Mods, please note SR's attempt to moderate me.

I am sure this will be dealt with appropriately.
