    Default Matt Prater isn't right...

Tough to be negative or overly critique, but as good teams say... we're always looking for ways to improve.

Matt Prater has down right stunk the last 4 weeks, and I'm beginning to get concerned. Is this a slump or is he going to miss some big kicks late in the season or worse, the playoffs?

Perfect on FGA's through week 9, but the last 4 weeks are a completely different story.

7 for 12 (58%) - isn't going to cut it down the home stretch or in the playoffs. (only 1 miss was over 50 yards)

I'm hoping it's a slump, but as the team looks for ways to improve, this to me is a glaring area that needs improvement.

To be extremely fair a lot of kickers have struggled the last couple of weeks. Dont know if its just the weather playing wind games or if he has a sore leg or what. But it seems to be more widespread rather than just with Prater.

Kickers go through slumps, just like golfers and baseball batters.

Prater historically has had a tough run from 40-49 yards. It's mental and he'll eventually fix it. Hope it's sooner rather than later. The one game I'm concerned about is the Baltimore match. That one may be close and Prater needs to be right.

Prate has struggled of late, but I think it's along the lines of the golfer example that Fox gave. He's had few opportunities and has struggled of late. I had kind of hoped he would get more chances today, to get back in the groove.

I hope he comes out of it for the playoffs. Prater has been awesome for us. I had been pushing that he should be considered one of the best in the NFL. He has been in a slump of late. I hope he comes out of it.

Maybe his leg is sore from all the kicking off he has had to do this year

As good as they've been this team still hasn't put it all together, seems like they're taking turns screwing up.......

It's so much easier to laugh when we're winning games with ease. God I love Peyton Manning.

I think Prater will be fine though, he proved last season he was clutch and fully deserved the extension he got.

I've been concerned about this the past couple weeks too... Seems like it is a mental thing and he just needs to get back on track. He has been so clutch for us many times, I'm not quite ready to give up on him.

...but seriously... I think he needs to lose the beer gut and get those tats removed. He's starting to look like a Raider fan.

With the exception of his nuckle ball last week, I think most of his misses have been just missed. I don't think he's off by much, probably has a slight mechanics issue he's battling.

I think yesterday he missed one in the 30's, most of the others have been 40-49, I believe.
