That separate, lower division. I would like for that division to be like the MAC, WAC, CUSA, etc schools. They aren't quite Arkansas St or Alabama A&T, but I don't see them really contributing anywhere. They win an upset here or there. They may get a top 25 team sometimes. But they don't really do much. I would like for them to still be televised and relevant. I would like for them to have the same set up as this super conference.
So it's like Europeans AND it's like soccer? Well damn.
Just kidding. I'm not sure how their's is. I plan on learning more about soccer and the leagues. I picked the Houston Dynamo because of their colors, and they lose the next day. So I'm not off to a good start. I haven't looked into European at all. There seem to be a lot of Arsenal fans that I know.
You could say I'm an "sec nut hugger". I just don't want any excuses. We would nearly have Notre Dame, Alabama, Florida, and Georgia in a 4 year playoff(if it were starting now). Now, I think Oregon replaced Georgia. I'm sure there would still be complaints of 2 SEC teams in the 4 team playoff.
One thing I like about my little scenario is that it doesn't knock a team out of a chance for a Championship because they're in a tough conference. Each conference has a chance to put their best team up for a chance to win it all. Even if the described SEC beats each other up during the season, but puts up a 10-2 team, they still have a chance. In our current system you have to be undefeated, one-loss at best.
I'll try to explain out how this would look:
Four regions: Southeast, Northeast, Midwest and West.
- Southeast
- SEC
- Conference USA
- Sun Belt
- Northeast
- ACC
- Big East
- Mid-American
- Midwest
- Big Ten
- Big 12
- Independents
- West
- Pac-12
- Mountain West
- WAC
Then you would have Top 10 Rankings for each region, starting in Week 5 or 6. Just for argument's sake, here are the hypothetical Top 10s to finish the regular season (Not counting Championship games because they would not exist).

- Alabama (11-1)

- South Carolina (10-2)
- Arkansas State (9-3)
- Tulsa (9-3)
- UCF (9-3)
- Mississippi State (8-4)

- Florida State (10-2)
- Northern Illinois (11-1)
- Kent State (11-1)
- Clemson (10-2)
- Louisville (10-2)
- Cincinnati (9-3)
- Rutgers (9-3)
- North Carolina (8-4)
- Ball State (9-3)
- Toledo (9-3)

- Note Dame (12-0)
- Ohio State (12-0)
- Kansas State (11-1)
- Oklahoma (10-2)
