The only thing that would have made it better is if they just went at it on the beach when the Death Star was blowing up the planet.

    Rogue One. Rated R.

    I want a directors cut!

Or if they floated off into space after the explosion - frozen and dead, only to use the force to come back

Seriously though the one thing I thought would have been an awesome twist is if that blind dude turned out to be a Jedi at the end and his staff was actually a lightsaber. He still could have died, just would've been a neat touch.

Just popped up in my mind. I think Lando Calrissian should be a code breaker and rescue Finn. Returns to resistance and help Leia. Lando would be a perfect role in gambling place, too. Benicio Del Toro? What a waste character.

It's come out now unofficially that Canto Bight was supposed to be Lando's casino but Billy D. Williams is in bad shape. Still, even a cameo would have been nice.

Can someone explain why Leia didn't die when she was sucked in to space? I thought that scene was going to be the perfect send off for Fisher. The conflict can be felt when KR wants to pull the trigger, but can't, but then his boys do it.

Why didn't they leave it at that, and how did she survive?

    The Force.

Also, can’t wait for Shane’s epic meltdown in reply to this post.

I didn't realize his age. I just found out he is 80. However, he could be co-pilot in Millennium Falcon with Chewbacca.

It looks like Star Wars released a new tale about Han Solo movie.

    SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY

Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

The plot synopsis that surprises no one and reveals nothing.

I am starting to wonder about this movie. After the director shake-up and the fact that this premieres in May and we still don't have a trailer is weird. I hope it surprises me in a good way, but right now I am still really on the fence about this one.

Almost feels like they are making it because they think they have to, but not really for any good reason.

I loved the side story with Rouge One. That was an epic story.

This Han one feels like here is Han when he was young, here ya go and you are welcome.

I don't want a back story just because it is a back story, I want it to add something and be thrilling, not just a puff piece.

That said I will still spend my $$ on it.

There is plenty of interesting things they could do with it. The extended universe books for Han's backstory were great. I'll wait till we see some previous before I get too concerned about it.

There are also plenty of things they could do with the Star Wars standalone films. I know Disney/Lucasfilm has to be careful about how far they take these movies off the beaten path, especially if the mixed reaction to the Last Jedi is an indication, but sometimes leaving things a mystery with characters and their backstories is ok. Plus I still feel like they are just going to cover the basics of him getting the ship, finding Chewie, etc. It could be entertaining, but it's not really adding to the overall story or mythos. The new movies outside of Rogue One have been very claustrophobic without much world building. They have good character focus but it doesn't feel like the Galaxy exists outside of what they present in the movies. The OT and Prequels felt like they had a much bigger scale somehow.

I'm mostly bitching because I wanted to see an Old Republic movie. I'm kind of a hypocrite because I am looking forward to the Obi-Wan movie if they get McGregor back. I will withold Judgment until after I've seen the film, it could surprise me like Rogue One did.
