Yeah its pretty good. Latest episode was literally called "The Gunslinger".

Also for everyone else this is just the line part of the ride for the new Rise of the Resistance attraction at Disney. They are using some pretty cutting edge hologram and animatronic tech and it looks pretty immersive:

And if you want to spoil yourself or aren't going to be able to afford going anytime soon, this is the actual ride:

I just watched Chapter 5. It was ok.

I want to watch 'Solo', but I'll be asleep by 2030 (it's 1923 now). I believe I'm gonna watch tomorrow morning.

We still haven't seen Bill Burr's character so it could be him. But it could also be Boba Fett (we hear the spur-like walking noise when he enters the frame) or Cad Bane who was in the Clone Wars cartoon. Fett would make sense since he was last seen falling into the Sarlacc on that very planet. I can't imagine they would not want to bring HIM back if they already brought Darth Maul back.

We watched them tonight. Pretty good. I was surprised they were only 30 minutes each. I need to rewwatch the last episode as I was failing sleep through most of it.

rouge one was the best of the new movies so far. Solo and last jedi were just meh flicks but still worth watching and still enticed the star wars geeky fan boi in me I don't hate Disney and what they are doing if I ran Disney I would want to make sure i was doing everything i could to keep shareholders happy and bring in new revenue.....people that are against are hypocritical if they wouldn't look to do the same if they had shareholders to answer to.....Its just business 101......They are creating new content and remarketing old content that's how you stay in business FWIW

Agreed. Once it was sold to Disney I just accepted some of the originality would be sacrificed for marketing and profit. You can’t get experimental when you spend 4 billion on something. I think things like The Mandalorian show that they are willing to try new things now that they’ve recouped their investment but we aren’t going to see anything too crazy for awhile.

Star Wars is more original now than ever before, though. Brand new original characters and new storylines, including advancing the stories of older characters? Let's be honest, if you remove nostalgia and rose tinted glasses, the New Star Wars movies are strictly superior to the predecessors.

Lets be honest, without the originals there would be no Mandalorian, no baby yoda, no carbon freezing, no star destroyers, no budget Empire (er.. First Order), etc. etc.

I like most of what they are doing, but until they can detach themselves from the teet of original characters and concepts its going to be tough. In many ways I am glad the Skywalker story is ending because it makes the galaxy feel so small when everyone is related. Once they get into the Old Republic and things like that I think the Disney Star Wars stuff will have a chance to shine because they can't rely on Skywalker or Kenobi to bail them out. The Mandalorian is a step in the right direction, but if they changed the color of his armor this is basically Boba Fett the TV Show. They couldn't even resist staying away from Tatooine in the first season. Hell, I can even buy that there are Jawas on other planets but do they all REALLY drive the same model Sandcrawler? I think the reason I like it so much despite all that is that it is the first step into a new direction where they aren't relying on established characters but rather using existing motifs which is the best way to do world building.

Once they can do a new story with new characters using familiar themes is when I think it will really hit its stride. Stay away from the Galactic Civl War and Clone Wars and create some lore that doesn't involve known characters. If a video game can do it almost 20 years ago, I have faith they can if they try:

That's like saying Sharknado is better than Jaws because it's newer and more modern. You're just wrong on this issue my friend. There are some highlights in the new era of SW, Rogue One chief among them, but as a whole the original 3 are leaps and bounds above the new ones. TLJ in particular was a horrid piece of garbage.

I know this is universally considered one of the worst ones, but I just have a soft spot in my heart for Phantom Menace because it's the first one I saw in theaters when I was a kid. Darth Maul was just such a cool looking villain. I'll probably always look at that one in a better light just out of sheer nostalgia.

The more they leave alone the original storyline and do their own thing, the better. Otherwise its just a reboot. I'm still looking forward to Rise of Skywalker but so help me if they throw the Emperor down a pit again...:
