Default The 50 Best Movies of the 21st Century...or are they?

    Yes yes, i know.

Like all things entertainment, movies are very subjective and this list is nothing different. But then this list certainly comes off more as pandering than actual "greatness". Are a majority of these movies more for critical thinking while viewing? Yes. But are they really considered entertaining when it comes to being the best which i believe is the difference between "important" and "great". Doubtful.

Ive already made it my mission to start putting my list together as to what is the 50 BEST films this century so far rather than "important" films based on social dynamics.

Feel free to spit out some movies you think would make the 50 and give me your thoughts on whether you agree or disagree with the concept of this list vs what might be your own.

I currently have gone up to 2010 so far and will finish going through 2011-current day when i get back. I have 24 movies already to make my own list of "Best" of this century. However, would love to get some input from you all on films that are on standby right now. Let me know if you feel any of these films definitely deserve to be in the list and/or give me any recommendations of films you think deserve to be there. Doesnt matter the genre.

I've seen only 6 of those 50 movies on the linked list. All six were solid, no complaints.

I don't see enough movies to make a list, it would just be ones I happen to have seen and liked.

I like all the ones on your list that I've seen, too (maybe half), except for the Pirates trilogy. Never clicked with me, not sure why.

Wow. Some heavies on the runners up list. Donnie Darko is still my jam, and Big Fish is always too underrated for my liking. 310 to Y is a beast of a film.

I like your taste in movies though. I'll probably have to watch your top 50.

I will end up making my own list I bet! This is fun.

Vanilla Sky. I maybe need to rewatch that. Time fades sharp memory, and that seems like it might be a truly great movie.

Its one of those movies that caught me and wife offguard. WE didnt go in thinking we would like it as much as we did but its a crazy enough movie that falls under the radar a lot.

That awful level of trolling is why you deserve to die nameless in a ditch you little zennial ****.

    Good call on NCfOM, though.

North, I appreciate the point that sometimes we exaggerate/overemphasis the notion of movies with deep or societal meanings. My question for you would be, out of the many that we love/cherish, which ones, if any, made the cut for you?

I need to get out more!
