Ok yeah all of that makes sense. But WHO is the child? And if Leia had 2 kids where is the boy?
I don't know if they ever said she had two kids or whatever, its all speculation at this point. There is a freeze frame I've seen from the trailer where the "person" handing her the lightsaber is very alien like in appearance but its hard to tell. I'm hitting a point now where I may lay off the spoilers myself so I have some surprises when it finally comes out at Christmas.

Mark hamel will just be happy to have another acting role - don't think he has been in anything since starring as cokknocker in Jay and silent Bob

Yeah he hasn't done much in the way of movies, but he has been one of the most prolific voice actors of the last 20 years. Most famously he has been the voice of the Joker going back to the 90's Batman Animated Series all the way up to the newer games like Arkham City. Check out his IMBD if you have time, its amazing what he's done voice work for: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000434/

Who is Luke talking to when he says, "You have that power too", is it Rey???

It might be more than one character. One concept art leak has Finn (the black storm trooper) holding a lightsaber, and Rey seems to have been cast because she may/may not look like her Star Wars grandma Natalie Portman. The title "The Force Awakens" alludes to an unspeakable ancient evil Force awakening as well as the Force coming alive in people who have it in them latently. Remember in this time period there may not be a Jedi academy so Jedi and even Sith could start to come to consciousness on their own in the great awakening.

One more great shot of Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie from Game of Thrones):

Shake, I'm holding you personally responsible if this movie ends up not being awesome.

Dude, its a Chrome Plated Stormtrooper. CHROME.

If living in an ethnic part of the city has taught me anything is that adding chrome makes things awesome.

I personally think the suit needs hydraulics and some 24" rims
