It’s like the “Rey learned too fast” nonsense from the fanbois after Force Awakens. There’s spaceships flying all over a fantastical galaxy with aliens of all different races, a made up fantastical life force flowing through everyone and harnessed by a small subset of hand picked aliens of different species and the part we can’t believe is that she learned the Force too quickly? LOL
And right now the Emperor being a clone is just speculation. He could be an animated corpse, he could’ve used what he learned from Plagueis to create a new body, etc.

I’m going in with an open mind Thursday, as long as they execute and have a good story I’m cool. I just don’t want to feel conflicted about what I just watched like I did walking out of Last Jedi. The Force Awakens has me grinning like an idiot at least on first viewing. The trailers have me pumped up at least!

Edit: also that wasn’t a clone of Luke on dagobah, that was a vision of the future. I get your point, though.

    its ******* hilarious.

Comes in here talking about people crying about star wars, then proceeds to cry about other people for 2 pages.

All i did was trash Ruin johnson and this dude loses his shit like i insulted his favorite director.
The best is a lot of people pretend that there is NO CRITICISM of these new productions and if you criticize it youre clearly in the minority. But that is NOT the case. Like I say this shit sucks now is a foreign concept that is insane in thought.

Obviously most of the children under 10 are going to Love almost ANYTHING Disney puts out.

I think a lot of it is the Media who pushes and hypes Disney ad nauseam. Just like moat critics call the last two Disney SW the best shit EVER yet fans were like WTF?! Seriously all critics unanimously praised TLJ as ground breaking but i couldnt even finish it. I thought taht was just me then I heard nothing but negatives from viewers.

Sorry if i dont quietly march in line like a goose stepping Nazi and have own opinion.

Lucas said that if he was doing the movies, we'd dive into the science of how the force works.

And, if you're aware of the flaws in that man when he's not just a great visionary, you'd know why that's awful.

    Sigh.

You are not one with The Force.

Ihave no issue with discussions, it's just the same tired thing over and over, no new material.

When Shane agrees with you, that's a strong sign you're on the wrong side of a discussion.

Yeah that's my issue, it's the same whining over and over.... There comes a point where we're well aware what you think, you don't have to restate for the billionth time.

Fair enough. My point about it being a fantastical world with fantastical technology a fantastical life force driving everything I think is fair, too though.

They have force ghosts and clones and force visions of the future, etc. It’s just really not that outlandish or crazy that something of the emperor, who as we know is one of the strongest Jedis to ever live, still exists. That doesn’t upset me one bit.

Does it mean they’ll do the story justice, no, they could screw that up royally. But I don’t have a problem with the device being used, if it’s used how we think it’s used.

Many fans love to hate the new Star Wars content. It's a form of fandom. It's a highly aggressive form of selecting one to be the true SW fan, or claiming true ownership of the franchise.

Trust me, for many fans, this gives them something to do.

It’s why I did my re-reviews. I wanted to revisit them all and create a taste profile for myself with some reasoned criticism. Just because Last Jedi is my least favorite doesn’t mean I found nothing redeeming in it, it was just very middling to me with some cool concepts that never quite reached their potential. As a science fiction fantasy movie I rate it much higher, but I’m tougher on Star Wars because it’s dear to me.

I’m not going to bemoan what i didn’t care for years later, I think the sum is greater than its parts sometimes but Star Wars can, and should, be different things to different people. I just can’t ride the hate train indefinitely, there’s too much to like so stick with that and move on. The thing I can’t subscribe to is that we MUST agree that one is the best and one is the worst. Let people enjoy what they will. Critique and move on.

You, North, and Chazoe are reasonable with the criticism. You are not the fans we are looking for in what you quoted above.

As such, I must poop on your car.

Rewatching Return of the Jedi. Easily my favorite (didn’t say best) movie of the 8, soon to be 9, Skywalker saga films. Love the Ewoks.
